Talk to customer support to fix Tesla app error. It is not a mechanical issue.

This adapter works perfectly. It is a solid fit, and the construction of the adapter feels like a quality piece.

We are still in the early days of the supercharger (NACS) to CCS charger adapters. If you buy this adapter and it "doesn't work," contact TopAutoGear's customer support. They will get back to you promptly with a solution. When I first tried mine out, I could not get it work, and there were no error messages on the Tesla app or my car's app to tell me what was wrong. Customer support had me change my car in the Tesla app (I have a Nissan, but they had me say it was a Mercedes). This worked perfectly.

    Excellent Customer Experience! BMW user

I purchased the product in preparation for a long distance travel from Los Angeles to San Francisco. Since there are more Tesla charging stations along the way I figured this would be a good option; in anddition to the non-Tesla charging stations. Upon receipt of the adapter, I eagerly headed out to test it. After 3 different Supercharger locations I was not able to charge my 2025 BMW iX 50.
Reached out to TopAutoGear Customer Service who explained that the ‘handshake protocol’ between BMW and Tesla has yet to happen, ie, the rollout is gradual and full compatibility will take place once the software updates and authorization are completed.
Keeping the unit while awaiting for the BMW roll out.

Huge shout out to the Customer Support team who provided an excellently detailed explanation and set expectations on the adapter’s functionality and compatibility. Five Stars for Customer Support.
Dec2025 – Received message from BMW that charging on Tesla superchargers is now available. Took the adapter to the closest Tesla location and it worked flawlessly as expected. Went on a long distance trip from Los Angeles to San Francisco and had no issues using the adapter on 4 different Tesla supercharger locations. A conveniently well built product that is quite easy to use!

Amazon Review: Step-by-Step Guide for Using Tesla Network with [Adapter Name]

    1. Activate the Tesla Network:

Open your vehicle’s manufacturer app on your phone.

Tap on Charging, then Settings, and switch on the Tesla Network by selecting Activate.

Enter a payment method in the app (this will link directly to your car for charging payments).

    2. Obtain the Adapter:

Purchase the Tesla-compatible adapter either through the app or on Amazon.

Note: While non-OEM adapters may void warranties in some cases, this adapter has been tested and works perfectly with no issues.

    3. Connect Your Vehicle to the Tesla Network:

After activation, you don’t need the app to charge. Everything can be done directly from your vehicle’s dashboard.

    4. Locate and Select a Charger:

Open the charging status screen on your vehicle’s dashboard.

Use the built-in map to find nearby Tesla chargers.

Select the charging station you are parked at, load its details, and choose the specific connector you want to use.

    5. Set Up and Start Charging:

Hook up your adapter to the Tesla charger.

Plug the adapter into your vehicle.

On the dashboard, tap Start Charging to begin.

    6. Build Quality and Performance:

The adapter is heavy-duty, heat-resistant, and fits snugly into both the charger and your vehicle’s socket.

Spring-loaded clips ensure it locks firmly in place.

After charging from 20% to 85%, the adapter remained cool with no signs of overheating.

    7. No Registration Needed for the Adapter:

The Tesla Network does not recognize or register the adapter; it only communicates with your vehicle once authorized via the manufacturer’s app.

Conclusion: This adapter is easy to install, works seamlessly with Tesla’s DC super-fast charging, and maintains excellent build quality. Highly recommended for anyone needing a reliable Tesla-compatible solution.

Didn’t work, pluggging it in gave my car a big red error message. Tried it again on several chargers, then on another car, got the same message each time. I should have avoided the cheapest option, this one was about half the size and weight of the American made charger I normally use as well, which might be telling.

I have a 2025 equinox EV and this was a game changer for me. No longer waiting over an hour to charge. You click it in and it hooks right up to the Tesla charger. I found it best and cheaper to use the Chevrolet app as it’s compatible with my car versus the Tesla app. Overall great product, really well made and so happy with my choice.

Tried 2 different adapters but couldn’t get to work with superchargers. I’ve got it to work with other company’s Nacs adapter. Good customer support from company but no luck. Tesla techs were on site both time and could see it wasn’t communicating with their handshake
