Overall:
The Sablute Ergo Keyboard and Mouse set aims to deliver a comfortable and stylish typing experience, complete with backlighting, rechargeable batteries, and a sleek design. While it performs well overall, I quickly learned that its ergonomic design favours smaller hands. Personally, I found it more suitable for occasional rather than prolonged daily use.
Packaging and Setup:
The set arrives in a neat, gift-ready box that feels well thought out. Inside, you get the keyboard, mouse, charging cable, and manual, all securely packed. Setup was simple plug-and-play via the included receiver, with no driver hassles.
Performance and Experience:
Compared to my current wave-style ergonomic set (in the same price range), the Sablute feels solid and slightly heavier. The keyboard offers a soft, quiet keypress and impressive responsiveness, keeping up comfortably with my 50WPM typing speed. I appreciated the quick-access keys and FN shortcuts, which worked smoothly. The backlighting is a great addition and can be toggled easily through various brightness and colour settings to suit your workspace mood.
The mouse, while reliable, isn’t particularly “ergonomic.” It’s lightweight with soft, quiet clicks and features a handy RGB light you can customize via a switch underneath. You can choose between fixed colours or cycling modes, nice touch.
My main issue was comfort. At 6'4", I have large hands, and the wrist rest, while soft and well-made, just doesn’t fit me ergonomically. The wave split feels too narrow, forcing my wrists inward and causing strain after extended typing. For users with smaller hands, I can see this keyboard being much more comfortable. I’ve since delegated it to my secondary PC, where I use it occasionally without discomfort.
Value for Money:
At around $39.99, this set feels like a fair deal. It offers features often found in higher-priced models, such as customizable backlighting, quiet keys, and rechargeable batteries with impressive longevity. For average-sized users seeking a reliable, stylish setup, it’s a solid value. For tall typists like me, though, comfort might be a trade-off.
Pros:
Soft, quiet keys with responsive typing
Attractive RGB backlighting with multiple settings
Rechargeable keyboard and mouse with strong battery life
Easy plug-and-play setup
Good value for the feature set
Cons:
The wave and wrist rest are too small for large hands
The mouse is not truly ergonomic despite the claim
The keyboard feels heavier than expected for an ergonomic model
