My apartment checked my HVAC system after my work orders of it not keeping up with the thermostat and weather in this Kansas summer. (Top level, north facing, no trees or shade) After they’d checked the compressor and coolant level they determined the system was “fine”. I did check the airflow temperature which was on spec. However multiple rooms had no air flow. I’m talking I pulled the vents off and stuck my arm into the duct work as far as possible, while I couldn’t feel anything. I also felt no air flow. The heat worked fine during the winter. My teen and tween girls share a room and it’s so hot they use THREE fans. Not only for it being so hot but for noise. I bought one for their room and during the night they shut off their bedroom fans and were bundled up under their blankets by morning. I have since bought three more, one for my son’s room, the bathroom and living space. These are very renter friendly, price is very practical, the only room I’ve noticed the “noise” in is the bathroom as there’s nothing else running. If the water is running you can’t hear the fan. It has fit each vent hole perfect. We love that it has varying speed levels, it’s very quiet, cools almost instantly, we haven’t needed the heat yet. You do need a outlet nearby for the plug in and there’s a remote control with battery included. I did need to drill a small hole for each vent, otherwise you should be able to use the screws from your existing vent cover.

My unit was a return – missing screws at minimum; possibly there was a protective film, who knows. That’s the one star down. It still worked so I didn’t bother to return.
Product is good, works as described. It took me longer than should to figure out how to set it up. Instructions aren’t that great.
I wish there was a way to control the air flow, like with regular registers. My office has 2 vent outlets: if installed in one of them, ALL air is propelled into the wall, boosting absolutely nothing in the room; when installed into another, air shoots along the wall, which was acceptable. So long story short, know how your duct work is connected to the vent outlets as this fan has no movable flaps on top (whatever they are called).
