Great tablet for beginners

5 out of 5 stars

Great tablet for beginners
It's comparable to my second tablet which was a Wacom Pen and Touch, which in turn is similar to the current Wacom Intuos tablets. To start, the packaging was very nice and I appreciated how many extra pen nibs they provided, and definitely the artist's glove that came with the tablet because that's something I've always wanted but never wanted to spend extra money on. It's small and fits comfortably in a narrow workspace like mine. I liked that you get 6 customizable shortcut buttons to use, which is a lot compared to the max of 4 I've ever had on other tablets. While working with it I did experience some very mild line jittering (which could have come from a lack of configuration with my drawing program) and noticed that the cursor got a little stuck when I got close to the edges of the working area/screen, but otherwise it works great! Overall, I think it's a good tablet for someone looking to not spend a ton of money to start doing digital art.

The box includes a tablet with a USB cable built in, USB-C adapter, adapter for Android devices, an artist glove (for a smoother drawing experience), penholder, battery-free pen (good addition!), and a generous amount of extra nibs. The screen isn’t textured so I don’t think I’ll be using these up as fast. The nice thing about the USB cable being on top doesn’t get in the way of your workspace for right handed and left handed artists. The box was packaged nicely, with a foam top on the box to protect the tablet, and the tablet itself was wrapped safely.

Set up was easy and the directions to download the driver were clear and simple. Please make sure to uninstall any other tablet drivers that aren’t from the same brand before you install the VEIKK driver or else it won’t work. This goes for any tablet so please keep in mind before installing.

The customisable hotkeys are always a plus for any tablet however I rely heavily on keyboard shortcuts so I don’t have much to comment other than they are useful for when they are used.
Pressure sensitivity, when adjusted to your personal preference, is fine. I noticed that there was some lag but it was due to the size of my file.

This is very light weight and portable, in case I have to travel somewhere this will be handy when I do not have my monitor display. It’s also very useful for editing my artwork rather than using a mouse which feels more natural to me.

I’ve used Wacom and Huion brands for both drawing tablets and monitors and VEIKK was on par with some of their products while being affordable, easy to use, and user friendly for new artists. I would recommend the VEIKK VK640 for those who are starting digital art but don’t want to throw too much money into their craft quite yet. This little tablet was an impressive value for its price and a good choice for a starting artist’s tool!

This is a nice entry tablet. It worked fine for what it was supposed to do. The wheels are easy to use, and it's easy to assign functions to the wheels and buttons. I did not like the amount of pressure needed for the buttons (a lot) or how loud they clicked, but that might not bother you. Also, the driver seems to run as normal software, and that means you can't use it at all when running at admin level (e.g., when installing software), and it will freeze up when other software freezes. It ends up being as laggy as whatever other software you're running. If you use it only for graphics, only in a graphics app, that might not be an issue, but personally I use it as a mouse replacement so this is a problem.

Ultimately, I switched to an XP-Pen Deco Pro. The XP-Pen is twice the price, but has an even nicer wheel, a better pen feel, and does not have the lag or admin issues. If you have a little more to spend, I would give it a look instead.

This tablet is great for portability and comes with all sorts of neat extras. I usually use a screen tablet for drawing but was looking for something a little easier to take with me when I'm traveling as my last portable tablet is a Wacom model thats over 10 years old now.

Set up was fairly easy, I had to uninstall my Huion tablet driver to get it to work properly but it didn't seem to have any issue working alongside the old Wacom drivers I also had installed. After that I just plugged in the tablet and it was ready to go!

The tablet came with everything needed for set up as well as a pen holder with extra nibs, additional wire connectors that allowed you to use it with your phone, and a tablet glove which is great cause it saved me the trouble of buying a new one.

The only issues I have is I didn't love the texture of drawing with the plastic nibs on the screen and the usual disconnect that comes with using a non-screen tablet. But those were pretty expected as they're common issues I have with tablets of this style and I think everything else more than made up for that!

easy to use and great for beginners in digital art !

The VK640 drawing tablet is very proficient and easy to use, I would recommend it to anyone, especially beginners, who are looking for an art tablet that reasonably priced. It is also compatible with all art software I believe so that’s an issue you don’t have to worry about!

Design: it’s very sleek and lightweight making it perfect to take it with you when out, I like how the buttons are seamlessly integrated on the side which doesn’t get in the way of your workspace.

Easy to use: As mentioned the tablet comes with very basic instructions on how to install it to your pc or mac and even your mobile device. It took me 10 minutes at the most to download the driver and set everything up. Including the mini adapters (OTG and USB type C) was incredibly beneficial in my instance since I use a MacBook Pro, I think that was mindful of the company in this regard to include options for other users where USB type A isn’t compatible with their devices.

Pressure: Loved the pressure sensitivity, was able to make different types of strokes without issues, as it read pressure very well.

Express keys: 10/10 I really enjoyed how many options that are available so the keys and even the stylus buttons can be tailored to meet the artist's needs. There are even specific clicks (left, right, etc.). And again, I can’t stress enough about the keys being placed on the side of the device and personally, it is essential to my workflow cause it’s not in the way.

Lastly, I did feel a bit of hand pain when using the tablet for a while, I think this could be fixed if it wasn’t so flat. Maybe this could be fixed by creating more space between the tablet's bottom and the surface of the table which in a sense will raise the tablet just a bit.
