Great flexibility in control of temperature within a defined range

While intended for maintaining optimal conditins in a green house or terrarium, this also works very nicely as a temperature control for an air compressor noise enclosure. It controls a fan for cooling the small insullated space and an infrared heat bulb to keep the air pump warm for easing the starting torque on cold days. This unit allows for setting up to a 30 degree temperature zone where it is neither heating or cooling. This replaced a similar unit without this feature that was always on in one mode or the other. There are options for timed on / off modes and the WiFi app works well for programming and checking its condition. It is nicely built with ample capacity for a heater when used in a greenhouse. Great value and flexible functions, highly reccomended.

The WiFi-enabled app is particularly useful—I can adjust settings or check temperature data from anywhere, whether I’m at work or away for the weekend. The high and low-temperature alarms provide peace of mind, ensuring I’m alerted if anything goes awry.

I’ve primarily used it to maintain consistent conditions for seed germination, and the precision is impressive. For instance, I set it to keep the temperature at 75°F with a small buffer, and it cycles my heating mat and fan perfectly. The waterproof probe also reassures me when working in a humid environment. While some might find the limitation to 2.4GHz WiFi a drawback compared to competitors that support dual-band networks, it hasn’t been an issue for me since my router is compatible.

Compared to other controllers I’ve tried, this one stands out with its dual sockets for heating and cooling devices, though only one can be active at a time. For my needs, that’s not a problem since I rarely run both simultaneously. Overall, it’s a practical tool that simplifies temperature management across various applications.

Cons:
– There's only one, but it's big. Though it has sockets for heating and cooling, it will not switch between them automatically. You must choose heating or cooling. I'm baffled by this. I don't know why you'd bother having both sockets. And it seems like it would just be a software/firmware change to correct this. For me, it's a deal breaker.
