Surprisingly Solid Sound in a Tiny, Affordable Package
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I picked up the TOZO A2 earbuds on a bit of a whim — I’ve used TOZO products before and generally found them to overdeliver for the price, and these are no exception. Right out of the box, the case is ultra-compact (fits easily in the coin pocket of my jeans) and charges via USB-C, which is a nice modern touch at this price. Pairing was as simple as opening the case and selecting them in Bluetooth settings. They reconnect super fast when taken out. For sound, they’re tuned with a consumer-friendly V-shaped profile — meaning a bit of extra bass and treble. If you like punchy low end (these do surprisingly well for their size), you’ll probably be happy. The midrange is slightly recessed but still clear enough for vocals and podcasts. I did some back-to-back tests with more expensive buds, and of course the A2 can’t compete on nuance or staging, but for casual listening, it’s impressive. The A2s also support single earbud use, which I appreciate for calls. Mic quality is perfectly serviceable for Zoom or phone calls — not studio-level, but people hear me fine. Battery life is roughly what they advertise: around 5 hours per charge, plus several top-offs from the case. I’ve taken them on a few day trips without any issues. Biggest downside? No app support or EQ customization like you’d get from TOZO’s higher-end models. Also no active noise canceling — just passive isolation, which is decent if you get a good fit. Overall, these are excellent little budget earbuds for casual music, podcasts, and calls. Great backup pair to toss in a bag, or even main pair if you’re not chasing audiophile sound. I’d happily recommend them to anyone wanting a cheap, ultra-portable set of truly wireless buds that just works.

Amazing product I’m a teenager with small ears and the apple air pods never fit me, and keep falling out so this is an amazing alternative cheap and works just as good. I can workout in these run, and shake my head and they still don’t fall out.

TL;DR – I would say that the TOZO A2 is pretty much unbeatable in its price bracket. I don't believe there are any negatives that would discourage me from recommending this product to anyone, but there are definitely some quirks that I hope to see TOZO improve on in the future. As someone who has owned a previous generation of TOZO product, I do appreciate how they seem to actively listen to feedback. They also have had wonderful support, in my experience.

Sound: The tuning is bass-heavy but they manage to not sound too muddled. I was surprised that battery powered earbuds could thump and rumble as well as these do. If you're looking for something a little more detailed and treble-focused, these probably aren't for you without some EQ work. Songs can feel a little "in your face" at times because the soundstage on these is relatively narrow. The plus side is what it lacks in space it makes up for in directionality. I was impressed with how clearly I could hear the positioning of instruments. In this regard, the A2 outclasses many much more expensive earbuds and IEMs that I've tried. I was hoping that TOZO offered a partner app that would allow for personal tuning, but I do not believe there is one available at the moment. The only objective negative I can point out in the sound department is that, despite being bass-focused, the max volume is still on the low side. If you like to listen to music louder than average you may be disappointed.

Construction: These don't feel like $20 earbuds at all. The injection molding on the plastic components is all very clean and the case feels solid. The hinge has no play in it and the cover closes with a satisfying magnetic snap. There is a single USB-C port on the exterior for charging the integrated case battery. Charging status is indicated by LED lights on the front of the case as well as on each of the earbuds.

Fit: I personally found these to be very comfortable and light. I forgot I was wearing them many times. The shape seems to ensure that they are more "one size fits all" than more traditional earbuds. My only nitpick is that there is no cutout or groove to keep the silicone tips aligned to the oval stem so sometimes I noticed I'd need to rotate the tips so they aligned with the speaker hole again.

Features: The range on these things has been excellent. I'll sometimes leave my phone and wander around the house while working on chores and I've had zero disconnects so far. They resume connection very quickly on my Pixel 6 when being removed from the charging case. I've not yet had a single time where I ran down the battery in one listening session save for the time when I tried them right out of the box and they weren't fully charged. If you do ever reach low battery you'll definitely know it though. The annoyed voice notification will repeat over and over about once per minute until you charge them again. Speaking of charging, I was a bit surprised to find that they didn't support wireless charging on the case but I really can't even complain for the price. My only true frustration? The touch controls. I loved this feature on my previous TOZO model but I cannot stand it on these. Yes, it's functional. If you input the command it proceeds to carry it out. However, it's become quite a nightmare to input the intended commands. The area that registers touches is much smaller on these earbuds due to their shape. I had assumed that the stems would be touch sensitive all the way down but that does not seem to be the case. There's only a tiny section near the LED indicator light on the earbud that works for these commands. Good luck hitting it consistently. Maybe I'm just not practiced enough yet but tapping twice to go to the next song or previous one is so unreliable. I end up in a cycle of pausing and resuming my music about 5 times before I actually get it to work. Of course, I don't want that to come off as too negative. The earbuds are still wonderful for their main purposes of listening to and enjoying music. Just something to consider if you intend to use them further away from your device.

    Audio quality 9.5/10
    Mic output quality 10/10
Charging Case & Earbud battery life 1,000,000/10!!!

I originally purchased a set of TOZO-A2’s on a whim. I was buying a more expensive set of wireless earbuds made by a BIG name in audio. At the same time I stumbled over a Flash Deal for the A2, they ended up under ten bucks. I thought they’d be “good enough” to use with my Switch and I wouldn’t be worried about losing them.

Just past the point where I could return them, the OTHER expensive buds started having problems. They wouldn’t connect right, they’d drop connection, they stopped charging in the case as reliably even though I kept the contacts clean. When I was sure they were charging, they were only holding a charge for less than 30 minutes and they were only a few months old.

One day I needed buds for a video call, I’m scrambling around trying to find the wired ones that came with my phone when I came across the A2’s that had been sitting in my drawer for 2 months. They still had approx 80% charge and worked as well as they had when I first got them. Not only was the audio crystal clear for me, the microphone output was clearer than my friends BIGGEST audio company name headset! I was pleased to see that not only did the buds in their case hold their charge, their charge lasted hours in use as well! I’d kept using them consistently after that call, I didn’t have to recharge the case for about another week. It’s been over a year and they’re my primary earbuds now. I was so thrilled that I bought a set of TOZO-T6 to try out and add to my arsenal!

I just bought my second set of A2’s, not because the first set failed in any way but because a janky wall outlet went haywire and melted my charging cable to the case! I’m not buying other brands anymore, not when TOZO gives me such amazing quality for so little money.

Excellent first pair of wireless earbuds, better than expected

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on July 3, 2023

    Color: BlackVerified Purchase

I bought these for my wife, who has had wired earbuds before, but these are her first pair of wireless earbuds. I, on the other hand, have used wireless earbuds extensively for many years and currently have 2 premium pairs one from Sony, the other from Tozo. When I said that I would buy these earbuds for her, she liked the look of them, they look a lot like the Apple Airpod Pro earbuds and she requested them in black. The main reason for buying them was to use for phone calls, so that she did not have to hold her phone up to her ear, which can be quite tiresome especially on long phone calls.

When they arrived, she could not get them to work, so I pointed out that they first needed to be paired with her phone, which I did for her: Setting, Connections, Bluetooth, make sure Bluetooth is turned on, Scan (for devices), select Tozo A2 (when it becomes listed) and Connect. This worked quickly and we checked the connection by playing some music she had on her phone. I noted that the sound quality was not as good as what I am used to with my earbuds, but since each pair of mine cost 10 time the price of these, it would be surprising if they were as good. However, my wife says that the sound quality is pretty good, which is all that matters.

Now they are paired, the earbuds connect automatically with her phone, each time she uses them. On phone calls she no longer has to hold her phone up to her ear, which is far more comfortable. Also, according to her mother, who is hard of hearing, the call quality is better with the earbuds than without, making it much easier for her mother to hear what is being said, which is an unexpected bonus. The battery life also seems to be surprisingly good.

My wife has now got used to the earbuds and is really enjoying using them. She really likes the magnetic feature so that they fit correctly in the charging box. She tends not to listen to music by this method as much as me but she is looking forward to using them on long flights to distract from the noise of the plane and other passengers. They are definitely worth the price tag and are a great pair for people just getting started with earbuds or who want a pair at a very reasonable price.
