I ordered this for our Prius to use as when we are traveling so we don't have to unwind our mounted one that came with the car. They include an adapter so that you can use this with any standard 110 outlet which is a mice addition, we got one a while ago and it didn't come with an adapter which made it basically worthless. The cord seems to be about the same gauge as the original and as you can see from the last photo, the end looks pretty much identical to the one that came with the car. When you plug it in there is a small screen that shows you basic information and when you hit the power button the information includes charging rates and time among other things. When not in use they have a convenient bag with a zipper to stow the entire charging system, so you don't have cords laying around in the back and getting in the way. Overall, I am so far very pleased with this charging system, and I feel confident in recommending it to anyone who needs a secondary or replacement charger.

    For a budget priced charger, this thing is awesome! We'll see if it lasts, but it feels like a top notch charger. The screen is small, but…it has a screen! The adjustable amperage is nice (just don't forget to put it back to normal if you switch it to a lower charging rate). It maxes out at about 3.7kwh, so easily twice as fast as on a 110v outlet, but its no supercharger. Speaking of which, being able to charge on both 110 and 220v is really nice, and the adjustable charging rate is really important if you find yourself needing to charge on a 15amp 110v outlet. And that it came with the adapter to go from the 6-20 plug to the standard 5-15 is great.

    Very nice charger with an even better company behind it!

    I own a Rav4 Prime, which takes the J1772. I got the 40ft version of this because our plug is about 35ft away and finding long chargers is very difficult. The 40ft is perfect if you need the versatility, and the price is unbeatable in comparison to other companies.

    The charger comes nicely packed and wrapped, and is easy to fit back in the box if you need.

    The display is so helpful and buttons are intuitive to navigate the menu. Being able to select your charging amperage is a very useful feature, especially if you are plugging up to a 120v outlet that is shared. You can take the charger down to 10 or 8 amps, and up from there. Being able to use this as both a level 1 & 2 charger is super convenient.

    The only reason I took off a star is because on Toyotas they make the port extra deep which meant I couldn't get the charger to click into place. BUT! The company is so helpful and responsive, I haven't had such a great experience from any vendor before.

    Upon learning of my issue they worked with me to troubleshoot; informed me that they have already made a new version of the plug in connector that is in stock with Amazon for the shorter cables; will update me when the 40ft new model is available; and refunded my purchase.

    This kind of customer care will keep me coming back to them. They are also one of only two companies I can find who make a 40ft version.

    Overall, despite the connection issue, I like the charger, how it works, and very much appreciate the company.

    Just got a pre-owned phev. The OEM charging cable was only 24', so I couldn't reach the driveway from my only exterior outlet.

    This thing arrived fast and required no setup. I plugged it in and it just worked!

    I'll come back and update if I run into trouble, but so far so good.

    My vehicle is a 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid btw, and this connected and is compatible.

    It does also come with a cover for the charger for durability and a bag for portability.

    Reason for the 3 stars; after little over 14 months of daily charging the display has water under the screen and it will only change for about 45 mins before it stops charging. ( I can conclude it is the charger vs issue with my car as I have no issues charging with other chargers.) I assumed it was waterproof as it shows it being used outside in numerous pictures but going back and fulling reading the description it doesn't say anywhere that it is waterproof. I just think it's important to having it in a review as to hopefully prevent others from making the same mistake that I did.

    Reasons for buying it was the long cord and cover for the plug when not it use.

    WRONG AWG USED ON THIS PRODUCT

    I really wanted to use and love this product – but it is NOT SAFE when used at 16amps – which is what I bought this for. This product is able to draw out a current of 16AMPs however, the cables used are only 14AWG rated cables (and need to be 12AWG to safely handle16amps). A standard 14 AWG (American Wire Gauge) copper wire is rated for a maximum of 15 amps in most residential and commercial applications, and this rating dictates that it should be protected by a 15-amp circuit breaker to prevent overheating and fire hazards. While 14 AWG copper wire can theoretically carry more current for very short durations, its safe operating limit for continuous load is 15 amps to comply with electrical codes and ensure safety. 12 AWG is required for 16A currents.
