    Can't live without it. So many uses from baby monitor to nursing home monitor and elderly companion to house alarm system. Everyone should have an Echo. If an elderly person is not responding to phone calls you can use the drop in feature to scan the room to see if they have fallen. This device can literally be a life saver. My mom uses the voice feature to make calls without touching her phone. Great for stroke, MS, Parkinson's and other medical conditions to allow the patient to communicate and family members to look in on them at anytime from anywhere. Created customized routines to start the day with a joke, motivational quote, and 30 minutes of my mom's favorite songs. Created a similar routine to put the kids to bed with a short story and relaxation music.

    This stand does what it should, lifting the device up a bit and allowing you to position it at a slight angle. Its attachment is magnetic and the magnet isn't as strong as I'd like, so it's fairly easy to lift the device right off the stand. But once you get it set the way you want it, you probably aren't going to be touching the Echo Show that much anyway.

    This is a great upgrade over my DOT. The visuals are great. Lyrics for my favorite music, news updates on screen. I got this on a limited Prime sale, so glad I took advantage of it. If I have any complaints iit seems the microphone is not as sensitive as the DOT. That might be ok because I get zero un asked for Alexa interruptions. I think this will be moved to our camper and we will get the 10" version for home and tie it in with our lights , security etc.

    I purchased one for all my daughters and myself for Christmas and it's been great. The grandkids can drop in on us whenever they want. Not only is it great to chat abut it has a great wide view. The kids can be silly and I can easily see them. Not only is it good for socializing, it's great in the kitchen for recipes, watching videos for entertainment and pretty much anything. I can even watch something on prime while cooking if I wanted. We love it!
