This is a nice unit, but I probably would not have bought it if I knew what I know now. First, the cradle has a bright LED that runs under where the googles sit. I ended up covering it up with a piece of electrical tape. Second, the goggles do not directly charge when you place them in the cradle. You have to still plug them in. The only difference being that it is sitting in a cradle while it is charging.
It is a sturdy cradle and comes with rechargeable batteries that you can put in the hand controllers. Some thing to keep in mind with that is that I will not work if you purchased any skins or grips for the controllers, like I did. You would have to take them off every time you charge them, which could become a pain. Also, the regular batteries in those things last very long anyway and would not require to be changed for awhile.
The goggles has it own LED indicator light that glows when plugged, which is an issue because I have it charging in my room. So, I have to unplug it when it is fully charged so that the green LED is not disturbing me at night while I am trying to sleep.
It takes up an area of about 15" by 6" when everything is docked
Anyway, this is a solid device, if you are ok with its limitations and understand what it can and cannot do.
