Solid smart switch overall. As others have stated, make sure your switch box has a neutral wire — that means three wires in the junction box that are typically black – hot/line, bare copper – ground, and white – neutral. Once wired, setup is simple, and pairing through Alexa via the QR code was quick. Although the Alexa hub is on main floor and this switch is on our second floor, the connection is solid & it hasn't gone offline after a month of use.
There are a few things to be aware of:
1. As others have pointed out, the wire terminals (where you connect the house wires to the switch) don’t use a standard clamp plate, so depending on the gauge of your house's wiring it may feel like there's too much play. It functions fine but isn’t the best design.
2. It only connects over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, it does not support 5 GHz. That’s common for smart home devices that utilize WiFi to carry the device's signals, but I call this out in the event you have difficulty getting the device to pair.
3. Instructions are written in the usual jumbled English but certainly understandable.
Overall, a sleek design, easy-to-set-up Matter switch with just a few quirks to keep in mind.
