Like a lot of people, I work from home. And I am always running around, trying to juggle everything with work and family. Vacuuming the house is the last thing I want to do, so I usually put it off until things are pretty dirty. And that means I am never living or working in a clean house.
This D60S robot vacuum and mop has been an absolute game changer! I have looked at robot vacuums before and even had one a while back. But this one is different. It is amazing. Honestly, I didn’t think a vacuum could make my life easier, but this little guy has totally changed the game. He’s now my favorite new “pet” in the house. We even gave him a nick name we like him so much. 😉
The first thing that surprised me was how quiet it was. It operates SO much more quiet than I would have expected and certainly quieter than any vacuum I have ever heard. I can’t even hear it running when I’m working or on a Zoom or phone call! It’s like a silent cleaning ninja in the house that doesn’t wake anyone up or bother me during a call. It says it only puts out 45dB which means it’s the quietest thing in my house. A lot quieter than my kids! ;-D
Also, you can even run it after bedtime by putting it into “Quiet stall” mode and it cleans while we sleep without a peep. It’s perfect for homes where noise is a big deal, like mine!
Next is how powerful it is. This vacuum has 4000Pa suction which is no joke! I researched this vs other vacuums and looked up what the “Pa” measurement is. This is important when you are picking a vacuum, so make sure you check that out. This one has what you want. It picks up everything from dust and pet hair to crumbs and debris. I have a mix of carpets and hardwood floors, and this vacuum just powers through it all. It even handles deep carpets, unlike some vacuums I’ve used that get stuck on fibers. It goes from my living room to the kitchen like a boss, and I can adjust the suction power depending on what’s needed. It’s just awesome.
But let’s talk about the huge advancement in tech this vacuum has. The 360° LiDAR navigation is something else! It maps out my house so quickly and doesn’t miss a thing. That’s right, this vacuum has LiDAR which is the same type of technology that driverless cars have! Whether it’s the living room, the hallway, or under the bed, it knows exactly where it’s going. It can save up to five different maps, which is amazing for multi-level homes. No more random bumping into walls or getting stuck in corners—this robot is super smart! I used to have one that didn’t have this feature. Trust me, you don’t want to buy a high end robot vacuum without this. Make sure it has LiDAR and not just touch and proximity sensors.
Look at the screen shot of my phone that I included as a photo on this review. You can actually see in the app what the robot sees. It maps your whole house! Then you can add walls or areas for it to not go into if you want. Those are the no go areas I will explain later.
I pretty much do everything from my phone now, so another feature I love is controlling it with an app on my phone. I can start cleaning, schedule it for later, or even change the suction power from my phone—super convenient for days when I’m all over the place. I also use Alexa in my house and it’s so easy to control from Alexa too. I can just tell Alexa to start cleaning, and boom, it’s like magic!
You can also set "no-go” zones. At first I didn’t think I would use this, but now I do. I love being able to tell it where not to go. For example, I tell it not to go too close to where my dog has his food bowl to keep the peace between the vacuum and the dog. Also one of my kids always leaves his video game console with cords in front of the TV, so I just tell it to skip that small area.
It also talks to you. See the video showing me attaching the mopping attachment and it automatically sensing that and telling me with its voice that it's switching modes. Very cool! It even says "hello owner" when it wakes up… I just wish I could program in my name. 😉
There is more to tell, but you should just try it yourself. This is amazing. I was worried that it might not be fore me but the vacuum saved me from all my sensory issues while having two toddlers, 3 dogs, a 17 yo son and two adults in the home. I can go barefoot all the time (no socks) again without constantly sweeping or vacuuming or mopping. You still do a cleaning if needed but I have yet to do one since I got this a few weeks ago. There are different settings, the loud high suction I do in the day and the quiet low suction is night time upkeep so it doesn’t stop from watching tv or wake the kids. It maps your house which is awesome, you can choose areas to clean and it easily picks up dirt dust and hair etc. My house is cluttered at times but knowing Wall-E (my kids named it) is going to clean means we are more likely to pick up toys and cereal too big for it to clean. The kids love it as well and one of them is scared of normal vacuums. Surprisingly the dog that try’s to eat RC Cars and toys like that, is totally unbothered by the device. The only downside I’ve see is that at times in my bedroom, it has tried humping my fan base because it thinks it can climb over the ledge but it can’t. Also, it’s smart enough to tell you the long hairs are wrapped around the brush or if it picked up a kids sock and wait for you to come help. Would buy again 10 out of 10.
