I purchased six of these actuators over time, trusting the original listing that showed and described them as waterproof. They were used exactly as advertised — in an outdoor application. Four of the six failed due to water intrusion, and you can literally hear water sloshing inside the housings. This isn’t misuse — it’s poor product design misrepresented as something it was not.
When I contacted the company, they initially admitted the listing was inaccurate and said they would issue a refund. But after months of follow-up, they stopped responding and eventually told me they couldn’t refund one of the orders because it was fulfilled by Amazon — even though the product page and description came directly from Progressive Automations, not Amazon.
They ignored detailed messages, failed to honor their own words, and ultimately offered me a 15% discount on a future purchase — after admitting the product was misrepresented. That’s not customer service — that’s avoidance.
I’ve documented everything and given them every chance to resolve this ethically and professionally. If you plan to use these outdoors, be warned:
They are not waterproof, and the company may not stand behind what they sell.
