Great for BIG PC displays

Great for BIG PC displays
With a Big desk + 48in screen this webcam makes a big difference. I had a webcam on a small tripod and using that would block my screen and would make it look like I wasn't looking at the camera. With this that's no longer a problem. It's not the best quality camera but it's not bad at all especially for web calls.

    The iContact Camera Pro 4K HD idea is brilliant, and it's hard to believe that it wasn't previously discovered. The idea is to lower the camera down further on the screen to around eye level. By doing so, when you participate in a web call, the viewers see you looking directly at them, rather than up or down. Because it is high resolution, you can select the portion of the screen (your face) to show the viewer. The camera links to download iContact's software to add various effects. I use the free software by Camo Studio, which offers even more effects.
    The camera will have a limited impact for those with giant screens. It works well with my 30" monitor and even better on my 17" laptop. It is a bit pricey, but it offers superb picture quality and is easy to take with you to use on your notebook computer.

    The delivery only took one day, which is quick.

    I think the concept of this camera worth most of its money. Also, the compact design which combine mircrophone and camera together makes it easier for me so I don't need an extra mircophone on the side for my desktop. Unlike traditional camera, the "camera rod" which can be rotated for 90 degrees helped to make the meetings more engaging and more eye contact makes you more respectful.

    I just used it once today, will follow up more on this product after I have more meetings.
    In general, I'd recommend you to give it a try!

    Not as Good as I hoped

    So far it's okay. Four starts because it works well, but not five stars because I'm not as impressed with what thought would be good HD quality. The iContact control app has functions that don't seem to work. I have a very high end PC with NVIDIA GPU and very fast AMD CPU, yet some functions don't seem to work at all. The app also keeps asking me to update to a newer version even though I have that "newer" version already installed.

    For 6 weeks prompting for a software update that won't install. After 6 weeks camera stopped working…. Update Amazon came through for me allowing a return past 30 days. I tried my laptop and another camera, but after 6 weeks, this video setup is better. I ordered a replacement. This one had a basic USB rather than a usb c. It worked immediately with no need to install software. If it continues to work I will rate it higher. My recommendation, any problems out of the box return it otherwise this seems pretty good.

    The idea here is more engagement when using a big monitor. I used to be that guy you see in portrait mode on every call because I use my 27" monitor as my primary monitor. Now I get a slightly degraded video experience (compared to the built in MacBook Pro cam), but looking at the camera. It's fine and still worth it. I do occasionally get annoyed with the positioning blocking some text on the screen, but that's the trade off until someone out there invents a camera that works behind a monitor. I always use my headset mics, so I don't get any value from the camera mics, and so wish the unit was smaller there. I'd bump this up to 4 stars if this was cheaper.

    iContact Camera is a flawed product.

    Great concept. Okay function. Aiming is not centered, and the controlling software (iContact Control) is odd in that it shows up as a camera all by itself. Also, iContract Control is not particularly reactive… changes are not automatically reflected in the camera view, which is annoying, and odd, because it is NOT the camera nor its microphone. Also, the camera is NOT centered well. It must be well off-center (2 inches from far left) to for me to be centered in the frame. Not highly recommended.

    The reviews on YouTube are pretty accurate. This isn't a perfect solution. But it is better than I thought it would be, particularly the image quality and reliability. I used an ArduCam B0520 with a custom mount prior to this. The camera just would not work reliably. Sometimes I'd get an image, sometimes not, particularly in Teams. Sometimes the image would flicker, distracting from the content of meetings.
    The iContact camera has been very reliable and has provided a stable image. It only provides 1080P at 30 fps in Teams, despite the claim of providing 1080P 60fps. The arm is too short on my 32" monitor. But it is good enough. It does what I wanted, which was to provide a webcam that maintains eye contact. It was 3.5 times the cost of the ArduCam though, and I feel overpriced. I use a headset, so I didn't need the microphone.
