Larger than I expected but that's exactly what I wanted. This wall plate cover for the Google Nest thermostat fits perfectly and covers all the old screw holes. Super snug and clean look!

First – Why is lost one star. It just a piece of plastic with NO stiffening ribs to keep the edges against the wall when attached (e.g. lifting edges). For this price, I would have expected thicker plastic or stiffening ribs on the back side.
Kudo’s to the product description – finding a cover plate for this strange Nest thermostat was made easer since they included the secret model number in the description, GA01334-US in my case. Nowhere on my Nest box uses the term “Nest Thermostat 2020”. Check out WIKI – they don’t call it that either.
Now my rant on the whole process – I had an older nest thermostat that Google decided to make obsolete by turning off all phone / web control of the device. So I got this one from my utility company. Turns out that this one needed a 4th wire to run – so I had to pay some bucks to get that done. So much for and “easy installation”.
My wire is run to a metal junction box, and only 1 of the holes can be aligned with the nest unit, the other holes just go inside junction – so nothing to grip. My original Nest (well built) and came with a plate that I could attach (multiple ways) to the wall and / or box.
This whole Nest setup is a major downgrade. One star to Google

The Nest thermostat fits into the wall plate cover nicely, and it was easy to install (less than five minutes). If you already have the Nest thermostat installed, it's helpful to take a picture of how the wires connect into the ring behind the thermostat before you remove them.
Steps:
1) Gently pull the thermostat off the wall – it will snap off of the ring.
2) Take a picture of how the wires connect into the ring so you can reconnect them correctly later.
3) Push the tab for each wire connector and gently pull the wire out.
4) Use a screwdriver to remove the ring from the wall.
5) Fit the ring into the wall plate cover, then place back on the wall and screw it in with the same screws you removed in step 4.
6) Reinsert the wires into the wire connector using the picture you took earlier as a guide.
7) Snap the thermostat back into place. Make sure it's firmly seated.
That's it. You may see a couple of messages on the thermostat like "provide stable power source", or "WiFi not connected", but those went away within 30 seconds and then I could see the thermostat in my Google Home app again.

Needs reinstalling the Nest, all wiring etc. I'd rather paint the wall.

It works fine, looks good, but overly priced item. I'd rather paint the back wall. It was delivered in its orihinal box, which was all torn, so giving one sttar less. Also, you'd need to remove yhe Nest Thermostat and all wiring to be able to install this plate so better get it at the time you buy the Nest so you can install both at the same time.
