It's a great way to dip your toes into projectors. I had a TV that would take a few months to ship to my house after I moved from overseas, so I decided to try this projector out. I did have to return the first one I got due to dust behind the lens, but I liked what I saw, so I ordered a replacement and I'd still say it's a 5/5.
Pros: Great picture quality and brightness for the price. I project onto a 150 inch projector screen in my bedroom with blackout curtains, and it looks great. Latency is very good as long as you don't use keystone correction. With keystone, there's pretty bad latency, but that only matters when I'm trying to use it as a screen for my computer. The latency is good enough for single player games, but a TV is still slightly better. It's very bright and contrast is very good in a dark room with windows blacked out.
Cons: Minor gripes but the fan is pretty loud at full brightness. If you need it at full brightness, expect to hear it over your audio. I run mine at 75% and it's not noticeable, but I wouldn't use it in a room with open windows or any other sources of light. The audio isn't the best, but because the audio comes from the projector, it's a weird experience no matter what. It works with external audio, and I can pair to a universal remote, so I hardly use it.
It's a great projector for the price, specifically for showing movies/ sports in a dark room. I wouldn't say it can replace a living room TV, but it is great to compliment one. At this point, I only use my livingroom TV when hosting or to play games, but movies and TV shows are on the projector.
If you want a good breakdown on this projector, there's plenty of reviews on youtube and online that discuss it to better explain the pros/ cons of going for this price point. My two cents is that if you're not fully committed, this is a good entry level projector to get started that won't leave you disappointed.
