My problem..I have small ear canals.
Having used numerous earbuds from the 1980s it has been an neverending struggle to find ones that will have a good sound production and will stay in my ears without continuously slipping out. The good enough sound quality has been quite easy to fulfill with the market selection of earbuds but it has been truly a quest for the nonexistant to find earbuds that once adjusted, stay in without slowly slipping out of my ears. The problem is exaggerated during any physical movement, let it be walking on street or bicycling.
I won't even go to the epic failure of my past year's earbuds. You know the designs from 1980-2000s.. none seemed as if they were designed to stick in my ears.. one thing was sure, my ears are not the standard size!
I should probably mention though, that my last earbuds before purchasing Meelectronics M6s were my Samsung mobile's earbuds. The same old problem, I can sort of fit them with the smallest rounded tips but they start to slide out fairly quickly. Even when sitting on a public transportation. The cable friction on my jacket collar and wire routing through clothing, and the listening device weight all produce a combo of factors that drag the earbuds of any manufacture from my ears.
That is…until I went on a once-again desperate internet search of what's out there for us small ear canal freaks. Must I really resort to children's Hello Kitty earbuds? Then I saw a review on Meelectronics M6s. Someone said they fit his/her ears prefectly when no other earbuds would. I clinged to it. I followed the hot trail, checked the manufacturer website and knew I was onto something. The M6s actually looked anatomically designed. The problem of finding them was finally solved by Amazon.co.uk. I was excited to say the least. I couldn't wait for try them!
So then the day came, they arrived and I got to fondle and try them. It's been a love story since..
Simply put: they fit in my ear canals perfectly and stay there. The sensation of clear high quality sound finally filled my head and didn't fade with the sliding off if the earbuds. I can't really explain how these moderately priced earbuds made my listening experience so much more pleasurable as sounds mean a world to me.
One thing I should probably mention is, that the come with various earbud tips. So these are not just for my freak ears, the general design is aimed at anyone needing earbuds that fit and stay on.
What really make the M6s good in my experience is:
– good quality sound. The fitting inside ear canal is everything in earbuds. If the fit is poor no good sound can be expected. M6s fit so well and I feel the lows to the highs.
– the earbud tips are curved as seem to be my ear canals. When I insert them the really follow and fill the earcanal with little effort. Im no doctor but it would seem that anatomically speaking we all have the same design in our canals and the variation is in sizes and lengths?
– the earbud frames and the attached wiring curve around the top part of your ear helixes preventing the drag from below. For physical excercise and movement, this is a very smart design feature.
– the cabling is robust, it's slightly thicker wiring than what is the norm. This has given me trust that the quite common pull from the device below the earbuds won't easily break anything.
– small but great feature, there's a movable clip on the wiring to lock the cable in position and prevent the pull from the device. The thing is, clips are not too common in earbuds and this little thing solves a frequent problem.
– the transparent color of this particular model is pleasing to me, I don't get satisfaction from black stuff hanging from my ears and this color scheme sort of melts in better without looking all security oriented.
– low profile hard eva case that will protect your M6s and you can fit it anywhere.
So there you have it. I quess I could just say.. I fully recommend them for anyone looking for earbuds that really fit and stay on during a physical excercise
