Awesome Matter-Enabled Light
Got these lights to use in my baby's room so I can turn them off from my phone, and I've been pretty satisfied with them so far. As my first matter-enabled device, I was absolutely ecstatic that I didn't have to install another random app on my phone, rather, I could pair directly into Google Home or Samsung Smart Things. When you screw these into their sockets, they go right into pairing mode, and on my samsung phone they immediately popped up to be paired to smart things through matter. I do have a smart hub, but I wasn't able to get them to work through that. This is fine though since I mostly use Google Home, and fortunately, there, I used the matter enabled device add, and they paired up right away. This is so painless compared to the average smart light where you have to download a new app, make an account, and then go through the pairing process. As for the light quality, the white and RGB are both quite bright and were a great brightness replacement for the standard LED 60w lights that were in the lamp before. Overall, really happy with this experience. Only question I really have is if you can pair to home and alexa, if you can, I suppose you'd need to put the lights in pairing mode again, as I tried to pair it without putting them in pairing mode after already registering in google home, but it did not work.

    Set up was easy and they work well. The majority of the time the lights go on or off instantly. Occasionally, lights in a group will come on with one light delayed a minute or so. Probably due to network traffic. This is not a huge issue since the others in the group do come on. Very pleased with the performance despite that. I like that when you add a new light bulb to the system, you do not have to do anything else it is completely set up a ready for use. Where other products require another app for setting it up then you have to set up the new bulb in Alexa as well.

    The LightingInside Matter (BLE) bulbs are incredibly easy to pair directly with Amazon Echo devices. I screwed in the bulb, turned it on (blinking right away), started Alexa app, Devices, +, Matter. App asked if it has the Matter logo (it does). The app asked me to scan the code on the bulb (also with the instruction sheet), but Alexa found the bulb before I could get the #. This '100w equivalent' is much brighter than the S-brand I've had to replace (also marked 100w equivalent). Even the color mode is nice and bright (this was severely lacking in the S bulbs).

    I'm throwing away the S3ngl3d hub and bulbs because they've been so problematic I wouldn't want to give them to a thrift store where they'll just irritate someone else.

    Matter connectivity is forgotten as soon as you have power loss, avoid if using Home Assistant.

    If you are buying these smart bulbs to add to Home Assistant, then be warned. When using these bulbs via the Matter Controller in Home Assistant, everything will install well and work well. Until you have the smallest of power outages or a power blip, then your bulb will remain on at 100% brightness and cannot be controlled again by Home Assistant until the Smart Bulbs are factory reset and reinstalled, then you have duplicates in Home Assistant, you then have to switch all automations and dashboards to point to the reset bulbs before they can be controlled again. If you have enough of these, it will cause you so much grief that you should look elsewhere for a product that does not lose its memory. The only way to switch off until Factory reset is to unscrew the bulb. AVOID !!

    Solid lights, a few quirks but the price makes them worth it.

    Setup works reasonably well via Matter, for anyone wondering. They actually show up as two separate devices, one for their native app and one that's compatible with Feit Electric, and both showed up during Matter setup. I'm using mine with an Echo Show as a Matter hub and they don't have any connectivity issues once connected.

    They're reasonably bright with good granularity in the brightness controls. The Red and Blue colors are spot on, but the Yellows end up being a lot more Green than they should be, so you have to play with them to get the correct color. Setting them to "Yellow" ends up lime green, while "Orange" ends up very yellow, but "Scarlet" yields a reasonable Orange so it's really more a matter of terminology when setting them.

    One of my four bulbs wouldn't connect directly via Matter no matter what I did. I ended up connecting it to the Feit Electric app, which these are thankfully compatible with, and then sharing it via Matter from that. This yielded a different Matter code than what was printed on the bulb, so I believe it was probably just a misprinted code. It works perfectly fine via now that this is sorted, though Alexa could NOT find or control it via the Feit Electric skill.

    Build quality seems fine, about what you'd expect given the price point. They don't seem particularly fragile or anything.

    Overall I feel like they're solid value for the money. They aren't on par with a Hue or LifX bulb, but those are 2-3x the price I paid. For $21, I would absolutely buy these again.

    It would pair, and then lose connection saying server unresponsive. Tried resetting, but no luck. Alexa finds it and will turn it on, but can't shut it off due to the server problem. Not pleased. Especially at the price point. Would not recommend.

    Update,, Lightinginside sent me two bulbs in compensation for the bulb I could not get to work the first time around. So I must say the customer service is quite good and communicative. This time,, when I turned the light on, Smart life saw it immediately and it paired without hesitation. Then it also paired with Alexa almost simultaneously. So obviously I was pleased. I'm sure they are too. Don't know what happened the first time around, but this time we are good. Thank you Lightinginside for going above and beyond.

    Very easily integrates with Apple HomeKit with no vendor account needed.
    Tried to change the color and it seems to be stuck on brightness and/or color. To get back to proper brightness had to use the Swatch and Temperature settings (in color wheel) etc.
    Sent a support request to company. Maybe had to do something else (though Meross, definitely does not appear to do the same thing) Not heard back from them.

    We're Apple folks but this bulb works for most leading home automation products. If you've ever setup any home automation products…this is the same process. Use the enclosed QR code. We live in Alaska so having a wide temperature operation was important. Imagine being able to switch on the front door light when returning from a long trip at night. No more fumbling for keys in the dark. We're contemplating where we'll install the second bulb, but it'll be a great addition to wherever it goes. I am astounded at the obvious complexity of the electronics in the bulb, in addition to its being a color-switching LED. Kudos, engineers!
