nice portable charger
Is exactly what it looks like: a simple, affordable, portable charger. It feels sturdy, the plug has a really good seal (it'll soften up after a few uses!), my Volt instantly recognized it and started charging at the 'portable charger' rate programmed in the car. I havent tried it on 240v yet, but it does support it! Not bad.

    You never know wat type of quality you are getting sometimes when you order these types of chargers, but I was pleasantly surprised. The cable was think and the charging unit was solid and very durable. It is truly water proof and it is also very bright and easy to read and use. The installing took a little min, maybe 30 mins, and was not difficult. The value was great and the design is very applicable and easy to use.

    Bought this for "emergency charging" while out traveling. It works perfectly, allows us to charge out of a standard wall outlet so no extra fussing is needed. As expected from 110, it's slow (from 10% to 800% estimated 40+ hours of charging). However it was perfect to top us up to get to the next fast charger. Comes in a storage bag and fits in the emergency compartment next to the spare tire kit. Build quality is decent, it doesn't feel as bullet proof as the public chargers, but should last good enough for the life of our EV.

    Overheats and HOT to the touch. Charging auto-shuts off

    Stopped working 6 months after I received it on 2/14/24. I noticed someone else who left a review saying that they received theirs the same day and it stopped working even sooner.

    Charger gets very hot after about an hour and auto shuts off. My car tries to start charging again but continues to shut off. Charger is very hot to the touch. Tested charging my car at a public level 2 charger and had no issues. Charged my car at a public level 3 charger and no issues. Disappointing to have to buy a new charger after spending so much money on one 6 months ago.

    I bought this EV charger to use at home, and it’s been really convenient. The 21 ft cable is long enough to reach my car easily, and it works with both Level 1 and Level 2 charging, which is super flexible.

    Setup was pretty simple — just plug it in and start charging. I use it mostly for overnight charging, and it’s been reliable every time.

    If you have a Tesla, just remember you’ll need an adapter, my tesla came with it

    Add the option to charge for a specific amount of time.

    It works as advertised. The only issue I have, which they should think about changing, is the delayed charging. I'd rather have an option to say charge for a specific amount of time, rather than delay charging for a specific time.

    If you're trying to extend your battery life by keeping your battery between 40% – 70%, I'd like to come home and just configure it to say just charge for 2 hours. The way it is currently is if I want to charge for just two hours before I leave for the next day, I have to figure out the math to delay charging to start 2 hours before I leave the next day. I'm not sure why they just don't add the charge for a specific time as a additional option. The delayed charging just doesn't make sense to me

    Inexpensive Way to Get Level 2 Charging

    UPDATE: One year on (June 26, 2025), I still love this charger. The cable attaching the cap to the charger "nozzle" broke long ago, but other than that minor annoyance, this thing is great and highly recommended!

    I have a 2012 Chevy Volt which can't draw more than 16 amps regardless of the charger level I choose, so this fact saved me money with a charge topping out at that level. Charging in 3 to 4 hours rather than over 11 is the main benefit for me here.

    The charger seems to be very heavy duty, solid construction and works well with a plug converter (NEMA 14-50P to 6-20R/6-15R T-Blade Adapter). The included NEMA 5-15 adapter was nice since it enabled me to run this from standard 110 voltage until I had could have a 240-volt outlet installed by an electrician in anticipation of buying a fully modern EV in the future.

    I'm unsure if this is related or just coincidence, but after beginning to use this I seemed to consistently get a few miles less of total estimated capacity from the car's battery. I haven't tested with the car's older included charger, so again I may be off base with this minor quibble.

    Definitely recommended if your amperage requirements don't exceed that of standard U.S. household current!

    Lo he probado conectándolo a enchufes de 110V con 16 A de corriente. Funciona muy bien y no se calienta. Muy sencillo de funcionamiento. Aunque el manual no coincide. Me falta probarlo en conectores tipo 2 a 220v para una carga más rápida. Pero con enchufes caseros, sólo tardó 5 horas en cargar toda la pila de mi BMW.
