This tablet operates on a very basic function, pressure from a stylus clears away LCD occlusion revealing a green underlayer which is then held in this state until the screen is reset either via a button on the back of the tablet or a magnet on the back of the pen being held close to the erase icon on the front of the tablet. For general note taking where permanent record is not really needed, this device does a good job.
Overall, the design of this tablet is nice. It is very lightweight, and the cover feels rigid and durable. The cover is glued to the back of the tablet so it cannot be removed from the cover. The stylus fits snugly into a loop built into the magnetic clasp for the cover. This tablet does require good lighting to be easily readable as the green underlayer is not very bright/reflective. I think more of a neon green would work better here if the manufacturer were looking for ideas for improvements. The LCD's black is powered by a single replaceable coin battery that handles refreshing the screen's state, so there is no backlighting included for low light scenarios. A spare CR2016 battery is included with this tablet which is nice.
This product's description does a fair job at describing the limitations of this tablet, so I would say it does meet expectations well and works well. My only two complaints are that there is not a companion phone app to record notes permanently from the tablet, and that the case cover does not have a ridge on the long end to hold the tablet in place at a 45-degree angle. I think the inclusion of these two features would elevate the usefulness quite a bit, as it does not hold up for writing when in the upright position, and there is not a convenient way to take snapshots, other than photos, of the work done like I can with my RocketBook for example. This makes this tablet's use cases somewhat limited to doodling and temporary tasks where I do not need the information I jot down for longer than a day or so.
Other than that, I do like this tablet a lot and I feel that I will likely find a way to record drawings off of it successfully with some experimentation with black/white image capture from my phone or printer-scanner. This product definitely feels high quality to hold and is very portable, so a great companion for looking professional at meetings…as long as the meeting does not run too long, and I do not run out of space! I love the concept of this however and will likely be keeping this by my office desk for a lot of small tasks.
