Every mechanic/installer should have this power probe or one like it. It is an invaluable tool if you are looking for faulty circuits in cars and trucks. This "Pro" package comes with many additional items to assist with making wire connections for testing. It comes with alligator clip leads and insulation penetrating leads needed to connect many vehicle circuits. If you don't already have one, I highly recommend this tool. Customer service selling this particular item is the best. They reply quickly to all my messages.
As far as the other features of this package I've run into a few issues.
I have tested the unit but I'm not satisfied with the circuit break feature. It does not locate the broken wire if the broken wire is next to another wire. The other wire will carry the signal tones making you think the broken wire is still good. I have duplicated this issue in many tests. It is useless finding a broken wire and can not detect a shorted wire at all. For almost 35 years I've installed emergency lighting and communications equipment for a living so I am very familiar with opens and shorts in wires. This item is terrible at finding wiring faults. I can't recommend this part of the tool.
The other functions are OK at best. I like the voltage probe for testing circuits and activating features in the vehicle with the ability to add voltage to the circuit you are installing or troubleshooting. The same can be said for placing a ground on a system to complete the circuit. This is a great feature this tool has.
The ohms feature would be nice for testing circuits but the tool does not measure "zero" ohms. If you are measuring 120ohm resistance, the tool will read 120ohms. If the circuit is shorted or grounded, the tool doesn't measure down to zero ohms. It will show a ground in DC (voltage probe) mode but not in resistance mode. In other words, it reads a "short" to ground the same as an "open".
The voltage probe as great but is also available by itself for a lower price. The DC voltage probe is a great feature and every mechanic or installer should have. The resistance probe should be able to read a short but instead it reads OL or Over Load meaning the resistance is too high to be measured or "infinity". It gives the same reading for "infinity" as it does when measuring a "short". This is terrible and possibly dangerous and could be costly for an installer thinking its safe but actually a short to ground.
I did not test the AC probe in the fear it may damage the vehicle I'm working on. The last thing I need to do is damage the ECM (vehicle computer).
The best part of this tool is the customer service. Like I said, they reply quickly to all my emails. If you are looking for a circuit probe, I would order one from this seller. They have great customer service and are truly concerned about customer satisfaction.

Great time saving tool

Very useful and complete set for the money. I've had very limited experience with Power Probe tools, and this one is right on par for my needs. I was able to trace down a broken wire that was causing erratic shifts between 1st and 2nd gear on one of my older (2002) vehicles using this tester, and it's now shifting like a clock after repairing the wire. I had been chasing the issue for at least a year using basic automotive and home testers. This one made it much easier to isolate the circuit and track down where the circuit break in the harness…and saved me a bunch of time and headache. I do a lot of my own automotive work, and this automotive diagnostic tool will surely stay in my tool set. As we all know, tracking down automotive electrical issues can be a real pain!

The 0-5V power supply also came in handy with trouble shooting and LED aquarium light fixture. After replacing the power supply for the fixture a year or so ago, it still wasn't working and I condemned it to my spare parts box. I decided to give it another shot and I was able to find that 4 of the LEDs had burned out. Replaced those diodes and the fixture now works as good as new. Wish I had found the fix before spending $$$ on a new lighting fixture! Oh well.

I haven had a need to use the relay testing feature yet, but I'm sure it will perform great when or if that need arises. This tester has definitely been worth it so far. Especially since I own several older model vehicles…one of which is European…and we all know electrical issues is pretty much a guaranteed expectation with those.

Cons: The biggest con that I have is with the plastic used. It doesn't feel very durable. I am concerned that a couple of ill-placed drops or bumps will likely result in cracks or chips in the housing. The other con (although, less so) is the packaging/storage. The storage case itself is decent, but I don't think it's sized or configured appropriately to store all of the accessories that come with the unit. It's all just kind of piled in there. Other than that…great tool.
