[UPDATE: After leaving my initial review, HUION contacted me and offered a full refund. I cannot fault a business who puts their customers first like they do! These screen protectors are high quality, you just need to be reeeeeally careful with the application.]
The original screen protector my tablet came installed with had a few small specks of something stuck underneath near center screen and after about 3 years of use I finally got sick of that and removed it. I figured ordering a replacement would be simple enough, though I definitely didn't agree with the $20 price tag. When my first order arrived, I was a little careless opening the package and the screen fell to the carpeted floor, immediately picking up more cat hair with static cling than I would have even thought was there. I managed to wipe enough of it off to begin the adhesion process, very slowly and carefully, but I had bubbles I just couldn't manage to get out. The instructions tell you to push them with your fingers or a card but in practice this does absolutely nothing, you have to remove the screen protector and slowly reapply with pressure in all the right places until they're gone. The problem with this is that during this very stressful and delicate procedure, all of the dust in the universe will decide it's time to party on your tablet and with that adhesive exposed, it WILL be ruined. I quickly got very frustrated, balled the screen up, and trashed it, very upset that I had wasted my money.
A few weeks pass and my biggest mistake occurs – I decided to try again. I thought maybe I wasn't careful enough the first time, surely I could manage a simple application with my new experience. It seemed to be going well, I got the whole thing on with only a couple tiny bubbles in the middle. But, of course, those bubbles wouldn't push out, and I just HAD to try peeling the screen up again to remove them. And wouldn't you know it, there came the dust, the frustration, the balling up and trashing, and I had now wasted $40.
I'm giving a 3 star review because I don't think HUION is entirely to blame. From what I could experience in the fleeting moments before disaster, both times the screen was of good quality and did very well to reduce glare. I just wish it were easier to apply… at this point there is no way I'm going to let myself buy a third one unless it comes with a visit from a HUION professional to install it for me.
