First, proper fit is a must. You will need your ring to hug your finger, not tight or loose. A strip of stiff paper works more accurately in measuring my finger size as it puts realistic pressure of a real ring. If you use a thin string you will end up about 2 sizes too large. I had to return once because of this. This is critical because as with a real ring on your finger, your finger shrink and enlarge with changing temperature and water/moisture exposure.
The ring is reasonably compact, about 2.7mm thick and 8mm wide. The inside is round and smooth with a clear epoxy resin coating covered all the electronics except the minimally exposed magnetic charging port, making wearing comfortable. Using this charging port as a marker, I wear the ring consistently with the flashing light towards the meaty inside of the finger. I found this gives me most accurate and consistent measurements.
The heart rate (HR) measurements are accurate, always within 1-2 points compared to my medical -grade Omron bicep BP monitor.
The BP measuring of this ring needs calibration. It means you have to take a blood pressure measurement with an inflatable cuff type BP monitor and enter this into the "health setting" in the blood pressure section of the app, for example 132/78 instead of the default 120/80. This sets a baseline for the ring to know your real blood pressure to make future measurements. After tweaking the numbers numerous times, I can get the ring to measure BP within 1-5 points compared to my Omron bicep BP monitor. But I guess the ring mostly use proportional extrapolation from the HR to calculate the BP, because it can't catch fast changes and spikes of BP not related to HR, so the BP monitoring is mostly good just to keep an eye on the steady state of your BP health. So beware.
The battery life is very good bot not exceptional compared to more expensive alternatives, lasting 5-6 days when set to take measurements at 1 hour intervals, with some random manual readings thrown in by me. This is very good for the money. The charging box works as intended, latching on the ring with magnetic attachment.
Sleep tracking is quite good, can detect REM (Rapid Eye Movements) and deep sleep phases, the most beneficial portions of sleep. It is accurate enough to detect my 5 minutes wake to use the bathroom before returning to sleep and recorded it. On the other hand, the total sleep time sometimes doesn't get updated in the app or until hours later, requiring a couple of restarts of the app/ Bluetooth connection to do so. Still some programming bugs to fix here.
The black porcelain-like finish seems to hold up quite well and still smooth and shiny after more than a month of workplace uses (under gloves) while using hammer, pliers and power tools; also knocks and contacts while washing dishes and things barehanded, with barely scratches you have to really squint to see. This is good enough for me.
Overall, if you're interested in starting to explore smart rings, this ring is really good value for your money.
