Being on a tight income, I can’t afford all the top gear on the market so I looked for the most comparable strap available for a lower price. This one seemed to fit the bill.
The positive: It is quite comfortable! (MASSIVELY better than the Quest 3 strap). It takes a bit of fiddling to get the fit right, but once you do it’s near perfect. I just wouldn’t do anything that requires tilting the head down, as it would most certainly fall right off your head. I work out to Supernatural using this strap and it stays on just fine, and that’s all that mattered to me. (TIP: Easiest way to put your headset on is by setting the headset against your face FIRST, and then swinging the strap down behind your head.)
I had such high hopes that you really can swing your headset up off your face (as pictured) to grab a quick drink without having to take the whole thing off, but I see absolutely no way this could be possible. It’s such a shame, but if you really look at the design and understand the law of gravity, you’d realize what a fantasy that actually is.
The battery seems OK except for the glaring problem that it so easily disconnects. If you lean your head back against the recliner, tilt your head wrong, set it down a certain way, or even just breathe wrong, it decides to disconnect. I don’t live in my headset so I can live with it, but if you like to spend hours at a time in VR, you may have some problems.
Finally: As others mention it is quite bulky. I don’t have any issues with that personally.
In summary, it’s a pretty decent strap for the price. I wish the battery didn’t constantly disconnect, but I decided to keep this because it’s a million times better than the horrible strap the MQ3 comes with.
