I like the fact that its rechargeable, and I dont have to go looking for batteries when I need it most. Its na=ot as accurate as my Starret, but its close enough for what I need it for (-.003 at 12 inches, which is slightly out of range according to advertised tolerance). Its consistent, and thats good enough for me. I can do the math in my head if I need to. Ive had issues with roller slippage in other CCC calipers. Its anyones guess how long this one will last
Its thinner than the other calipers I have, so Ill have to be careful or Ill bend it. The box it came in was a half a heartbeat from garbage, so I made a new one.
The main reason I got the Hardell is because it displays fractions, and that alone makes this a win over everything else out there.
[Update] After 30 years with my cheapo 6" dial caliper, it flew off the workbench and broke into a bunch if worn out parts. Before the crash it still worked like an old buddy. Now comes time for replacement. I elected to go with the 6" Hardell rechargeable, because ive had good luck with the 12" reviewed above. The only difference was accuracy. The 6" was dead on when I verified it with 25, 50, 100, and 150mm calibration pins. That surprised the happy hooyas out of me. Looks like I'm gonna keep this one until I kill it.
