Very nice build quality and supplied with a broad selection of accessories. The sensitivity of the stylus is amazing. It has a very natural and responsive pressure sensitivity that feels very similar to a real pen.
I am a computer graphics/learning products developer who creates a lot of instructional materials for software documentation. I am a frequent user of CorelDraw and Photoshop. I normally create flow charts and block diagrams to indicate usage models and procedures. Most of these graphics objects can be created using a mouse, but in some situations, I want to highlight an item with a notation that appears to be hand-drawn. Using a mouse to do this usually yields something that looks fake or amateurish, so I want a better way to accomplish this goal. This drawing tablet lets me create realistic and natural-looking annotations that give a more professional appearance to my documentation.
Setup of this device was quick and easy… plug the tablet into the USB port and Windows takes you to the folder with the driver. Install the driver (and the optional painting program if desired), and you are good to go.
I launched the program to test the tablet, and after a couple of minutes to fiddle with the controls, I was able to create a test drawing and experiment with a few of the available tools (pencils, brushes, etc.) and give the pen a quick workout. There are many features of this tablet that need further experimentation, but the basic features and settings worked as expected. I was especially impressed with the pressure sensitivity of the pen. I had chosen a medium pencil point width and then did some doodling. The line varied in lightness/darkness as I increased and decreased the pressure on the pen tip. It did this in a very natural and realistic-looking way that mimicked real-world performance.
The unit has a bank of controls that can be customized to your specific graphics program allowing you to initiate familiar commands with ease. Once you have established your control mappings to your liking, you can set up your own customized workflow to increase your design speed and efficiency.
I have owned other drawing tablets over the years, but like any other tech device, they start to lack modern features and drivers stop being supported. This unit features a very modern interface with flexible control mappings and driver support for all current versions of Windows. I am looking forward to years of use with this well-designed and quality-built drawing tablet.
