Much better results than a keychain cam. It does the advertised resolutions & frame rates using JPEG or slower frame rates using raw YUV. The highest 4:3 resolution it does is 1280×1024. It doesn't do any 1:1 resolutions. The sensor doesn't cover the top & bottom. The 4:3 modes chop off the sides. The amount of cropping in the 4:3 modes changes based on resolution. 640×480 crops the most. 1024×768 crops the least. The biggest field of view is from 1920×1080.It has a fully automatic & fully manual mode but it doesn't have an exposure setting. The manual mode just locks in whatever the last auto exposure was & allows a manual setting for white balance. The auto mode adjusts the exposure & overrides the manual white balance. Gamma, gain, saturation, brightness, contrast, sharpness, backlight compensation are always manual. It has a breakaway PC board for smaller mounting. The USB header can be desoldered & connected from in front.

I purchased this camera for machine vision development in Linux. It worked as soon as I plugged it in with V4L2 in Ubuntu 14.04. The 180 fisheye lens is great and has little chromatic aberration and distortion. It's not perfect, but it's far superior than I expected it would be for the price. The resolution you select determines how much of the frame is visible. i.e. the only way to see the entire circular fisheye image is to run in 1080p30, while the 720p60 option will window the viewport instead of resizing the image. This keeps the lag down, which I do appreciate.

The framerates are also great. At first, I was concerned that I was not getting effective 1080p30 and 720p60, but in the camera configuration you can disable backlight compensation to always get full framerates. Provided you can provide enough illumination, it works very well. The image quality is not the highest, but this at this price point, it can't be beat.

Finally, before I even received it, Lydia from their support staff reached out to check to see if I had any troubles. Whoa. I'm very pleased with the service and the camera. I plan on purchasing some more ELP cams for my future projects.

I've bought two and will be getting another. These are truly fisheye, nearly 180 degree view. For security purposes in a well lit room they are excellent. Like all fisheye lenses they need a lot of light, more than a typical camera. Image quality is passable for security purposes.

I used this to replace the factory camera on a Gweike Cloud Pro II camera. I had to use acrylic as spacers because the plug is facing up and not to the side as I would have preferred. Nevertheless it works great and has a great picture for my needs.

Love the fisheye but the image quality is limited and dynamic range is sub-par. Camera software support is also non-existent so I used VLC which was severely limited for what I wanted as well. Even though the camera control was limited due to lack of software, the little control I had like controlling brightness and exposure was beyond what the camera could even handle. My logitech HD webcams have better sensors in them. I'll have to put a fisheye lens on those instead for what I need, unfortunately I'll have to shelve this. I give this 3 stars because the lens is true 180deg fisheye.

This camera works with Lightburn but not very well. It’s not good enough to snap a pic then you can begin immediately engraving. No matter how many times I aligned and calibrated this it would not accurately trace with the laser what you saw on the screen. You’ll still end up framing a bunch of times to get it right. Especially something complex. Or any circle.

This worked exactly as I'd hoped. The field of view is as wide as advertised without undue distortion, and the quality is more than sufficient for my needs (note: am using indoors in reasonably lit spaces — can't speak to performance outdoors or low-light performance). I wouldn't try to make a movie with the thing, and the limited resolution (1080p) means you can't really zoom in on things, but that's all as advertised and fine for my needs. Camera just worked with a 7 year old computer and a new one with no hassle.
