Good Thick Set of Electrical Safety Gloves for Around the House Usage
Lots of us like to do electrical work around the house such as changing out switches or breakers, or putting in a new lighting fixture. However, more than once I have shut the wrong breaker or thought I wouldn't touch anything live with my screwdriver. So those moments are what these are for. These GOL-SIV Electrical Insulated Gloves are very well made. The fabric knit is thick and sturdy but not too thick that you can't handle some basic wiring in your wall. The back part of the glove has the statistical information on it which is clearly marked and very important. These gloves are rated up to 400V and it is essential that you pay attention to what level of electric you are working with. Most of the time it will just be a regular 110/120V line and every once in a while a 220V for ACs and Washer and Dryers, etc. These gloves should be more than ample to keep you safe from getting a good shock from those sources. However, do not think you are going to start installing a main line or a large generator safely just because you have a pair of these. The material on the inside of the palm is almost like a gravel studded layer of rubber, it gives you the needed insulation and a bit of grip to hold what your working on. Just from wearing the gloves you will notice that you are not fully protected from heavy voltage as you can still see gaps in the fabric to which your skin is visible. So always plan accordingly and use a licensed electrician when it calls for one, these gloves will keep you from getting a good shock, but they won't save you from a downed high-voltage line. For the price point and the good quality of the gloves I give them 5 Stars, they are great to have around the house!
