I purchased this unit and was very happy with its performance, so I decided to trust Ecovacs again and buy a Deebot cleaning robot. Both products worked perfectly at first — the robot mapped my home accurately.
However, one day the map changed without my consent, showing rooms that don’t exist (“Solar Room” and “Corridor”). I immediately contacted Ecovacs, but only received automated responses through Salesforce, saying there was no issue.
When I reviewed the privacy settings in the app, I noticed that data-sharing permissions are required, with no clear option to decline or limit them. This raises serious privacy concerns. I still haven’t been able to speak to a human representative, and I have no clarity about what personal data is collected or shared.
The devices perform well, but the lack of transparency and control over personal data leaves me deeply uncomfortable. I hope Ecovacs improves their privacy practices — or offers a refund to those of us who value data protection as much as product performance.
“Transparency and consent should be as essential as cleaning performance.”
