Buckle up, this is a long and detailed review. (If you want the summary, here it is: go buy this vacuum now. I had a Roborock S7 which works really well but I moved the S7 upstairs and needed another robot that vacuums and mops since I have carpet rugs, hardwood, and tile. I upgraded and bought the Deebot T30S. I have been using it for about 6 weeks now and it has been an absolute game changer! I have 3 dogs so I always joke that I am his pit crew – filling the water tank, emptying the dust bin, and swapping the mop pad 1-2x a day depending on how much my dogs are shedding. I absolutely recommend it if it’s in your budget. The automatic pit crew station (automatically empties the dust bin, empties the dirty water, refills with clean water, washes AND dries the mop pads) is a an absolutely amazing upgrade that works so well. QUICK SUMMARY PROS: * Quiet even on boost suction * Extremely high suction * Large water tank for mopping * Auto emptying works extremely well * Picks up pet hair without brush tangling * Mapping works extremely well * Able to mark no-mop areas like rugs * Able to go weeks without having to refill the water or change the vacuum bag * Extra mop pads in the box CONS: * Auto emptying and refill can be annoying, (although not very loud compared to previous models) * Must buy replacement dust bags * Mop pads sometimes get stuck on rugs and detach DETAILED REVIEW I have three dogs now dogs ( Siberian husky and a Heeler) two of which shed a ton of dog hair. I also have a doggy door which means mud gets tracked in occasionally depending on weather. Vacuuming and/or mopping everyday is required but not an option for me time-wise. Between that and normal dirt I have Deebot (who I have affectionately named “Clean Elizabeth II” who replaced her successor “Clean Elizabeth I”) vacuum scheduled to run twice a day. This robot vacuum does a great job in every important aspect, from the obvious vacuuming and mopping to ease of setup and a user friendly app. SETUP It was incredibly easy. Out of the box the only thing I had to do (besides remove the plastic) was put on the side brush and mops, and attach the vacuum bag. (The cord and everything else was already out together.) The docking station already had a dirt bag installed so I just had to fill up the clean water tank. I already had the app installed so I quickly added the new vacuum and followed instructions to finish setting up. APP The app is not only easy to use, it has some really neat features that set it a tier above other robot vacuum apps. The vacuum runs an initial mapping run, then actually identified separate rooms automatically (on roborock/roomba you have to manually split rooms by drawing) and allows you to easily name, merge, or split them. Scheduling allows you to set “do not disturb” time to avoid running late at night, the order the rooms are cleaned in, continue cleaning after recharging if the battery is low, and even set the suction level and mopping level room by room. It has options for no-go zones, no-mop zones, etc. There’s are automatic reminders (based on runtime) to fill/empty the water tanks, clean the sensors empty the bin, and replace filters, etc. One new feature I haven’t used much but am testing out is the AI cleaning feature. It intelligently changes cleaning patterns based on things like how much dirt is cleaned up in a room, the type of room/floor (e.g. mops the kitchen floor twice vs 1x in a bedroom). Vacuum / Mop The vacuuming is absolutely perfect. I’m not sure what else to say. It’s about 2x quieter than my Roborock S5, never misses a spot, and cleans my entire house on one charge. I noticed a few rugs it got stuck on due to strong suction and simply set up a marker to avoid that area. The mopping is really good – significantly better than my roborock for two reasons: 1. Duel spinning mop pads do a much better job of cleaning dirt off of tile than a simple mop pad that drags across the floor. 2. There is a setting to heat up the water so it uses hot water to do a better job of cleaning the floor. It detects when the mop is attached and adjust the cleaning accordingly (avoiding no mop zones.). I’ve found it’s especially great for rainy days when my pups track in water or dirt through the doggy door. Docking Station (AKA the Pit Crew) There are so many things I love about this vacuum. The docking station is a one stop shop for everything. It empties dirty water, refills clean water, empties the dust bin, washes the mop pads, dries the mop pads, and can even self clean the docking station! Voice Assistant I haven’t used the voice assistant much, but no doubt I’ll be yelling for “Yiko” to clean up a mess in no time just like I yell for Alexa to turn off the lights. You can tell it specific commands like a certain area to clean (e.g. under the bed, between the sofa and table, clean around the dog bowls, etc.) you can even tell her to clean in “housekeeping mode” which is basically telling the AI to figure out what’s dirty and clean it if you’re too lazy to learn other commands. I keep discovering new little settings and features that add to how much I like this vacuum. I’m more impressed with it the more I use it. I love not having to constantly grab the vacuum and empty the dust bin or fill the water. Go buy this vacuum and I promise it will be the best purchase you make this year.
OK, count me in as impressed with this Deebot N79s. Only had this thing about 10 days and it works great. I did my homework first to make sure this Deebot N79s would work in the house. Read it was 3.1 inches high so I measured my two couches and they were both at 2 inches. Ordered 2 sets of 2 inch risers and now they sit at 4 inches. My coffee table sits on a low pile carpet and was only about 3 inches. Quick trip to the store to buy a set of square rubber carpet pads and solves that table problem. Wrapping the cords up so they were not on the floor to solve the problem of getting caught in the brush, done. Now I buy the Deebot N79s for only $159 on Amazon during Prime days. Arrives and set it up just fine.
Being a retired computer engineer and knowing the instructions said the unit works on the 2.4G SSID band only, I test it trying to connect it up with my iPhone connected to my 5G band. And yes, it did not work as expected. So I now switch the iPhone to the 2.4G band and it connects right up and works perfect. Now I can go back to my iPhone and switch back the 5G band and it works just fine, as expected.
Yeah, it cleans great just like everyone says. We have 3 short hair cats and really never vacuum the entire place. All hardwood floors except for the 2 low pile rugs a 2’x3’ small and the coffee table one, about 3’x 6’. Both these rugs had fringe on them. I simply cut the fringe off of both. They actually look better and the fringe doesn’t trap the dirt anymore.
We are running this every day and the dust bin is full, we can’t believe it. So after the 5th day I break out the Swiffer Wet Jet and I wet jet the entire wood floor under everything and all corners. “OK” I say to myself, now let’s see what it picks up. After the run, the dust bin is full again! So now I vacuum the two rugs with our upright vacuum and hardly get anything in its bin. Fire up the Deebot and again the dust bin is full! Where the heck is all this stuff coming from?
It fits under all the furniture and coffee table as they were raised a bit. It just barely got stuck for the first time under one section of the kitchen cabinets. This section must have been 3 inches high from the floor ;-). A simple strip of soft ½ inch self adhesive foam insulation tape stuck under the section solves that problem and you can’t even see it. Now if the unit hits that spot again it will hit the foam tape and back away. Simple fix.
All I do is pick up the garbage can from the floor, move the high kitchen chairs out from the island and fire up auto mode. It goes around the island fine, through the kitchen chairs and even the dining room chairs. I would suggest you run the bot around via the remote to all places you think is may get stuck at. Now you can fix those areas so is does not happen.
The app on the phone works well and you can set different times of the day for each day of the week. Although it only runs AUTO mode, I wish I could schedule EDGE mode for at least one day a week.
The charging station is against the wall. I have one foot clearance on each side and two foot clearance in the front as the IR shoots though the end of the dining room table with chairs. It has always made it back home with no issue. I bought 6 extra filters, 6 extra brushes and brush roller for about $24. The brushes came all bent out of shape but dipping them in hot water for about 4.2 second straightens them out just perfect. This will probably work for brushes that are all bent out of shape from use but still in good shape.
Update: This unit works so good I just bought a 2nd one for the upstairs for only $80! $30 off coupon and used my Discover points!
One of the best purchases for the house, if not the only one, lol. This robot vacuum has been the best. When I got pregnant, my husband started looking for vacuums that would help make life easier while cleaning the house and found this one after a good research. I think we've had it for a year, and it's been a lifesaver and a life-changer. It cleans very well, is easy to clean, all its parts have lasted quite a while, and you can find generic replacement parts for cheaper, and they work perfectly. The app to put it to work is super easy to use and smart, the first day the vacuum will scan all your house and then divide them into rooms according to what it reads, but you can go later to edit how you want it to be divided, you can choose which vacuum or mop, or both, choose the levels from minimum to maximum cleaning, I super recommend it.
For convincing my kids that we should get a robot vacuum for a family gift this holiday!
Meet Mo (Wall-E fans will understand).
Mo has fully integrated in to our family like a charm; leaving me to wonder why the heck I waited so long to get him!
My house has two dogs, two boys and myself that all have varying degrees of messiness and shedding. Mo has been able to keep up with us all….for the most part.
I’m allergic to dogs so I really should vacuum twice a week but I am also dealing with a chronic illness so sometimes I don’t have the energy. Mo has reduced my need to vacuum to once every two weeks, mostly.
I typically will pull everything away from the edges then open the app and run Mo on edge detail once a week. Mo is programmed to clean Monday through Friday just before everyone gets up. I give him the weekends off. We usually have to empty his collection container out twice a week. I also put chairs, bar stools, and anything else small (like floor baskets) up once week so he gets under those as well.
Mo does a pretty decent job for the price. As you can see from the video, he is able to navigate my multiple surfaces well. He does a good job of getting under my furniture.
He has eaten pencils, pipe cleaners, tons of dog hair, a Halo figurine, small bits of paper and sand. Although he and sand don’t always like each other. Occasionally he finds something “lost” and gets constipated.
He also does not do well on bathroom carpets that are rubber backed or fringed and will beep annyloyingly loud until you rescue him or he dies. Surprisingly, he does not eat my curtains, which drape into the floor.
I did find him napping in the kitchen one morning so I’m guessing he may not have set himself back on the charger the day before.
My son turned him off when he was cleaning him out one day and that resets the scheduled programming. I definitely noticed it when he was not cleaning as scheduled.
I personally cannot watch him because his random vacuuming drives my OCD brain crazy.
My dogs also do not care for Mo. Especially when Mo gets in the room with them. My one dog was barking at Mo because he was cleaning her spot. Mo didn’t seem to notice but for the sake of my sanity, I made Mo go home.
We’ve had him for a bit over a month and the only negative I have is that the consumables seem to wear down fast…. according to what the app says.
I am glad we got him. He really fits right in to our family.
6 month update: Mo is still going strong. Apparently we are dirtier than I thought. We give him a colonoscopy a few times a week and he keeps going. My floors are fairly clean considering there are 3 humans and two labs. I can now almost extend my vacuuming to every other week. I run him on edge duty on the weekend usually. No more dog fur dust balls, no more broken pencils, no more tiny scraps of paper (I have a slightly obsessed 9 year old with a paper cutting addiction), no more dirt. Heck, Mo even ate sand! Beach sand!
Some things I noticed, Mo hates the bathroom rubber backed rugs and will scream until you save him from them (he gets stuck on them). He will forget his programming if you turn him off by accident. He will eat anything in his path but will loudly complain if he doesn’t like it, for example, a cell phone charger or a sock. His side brushes wear down fast. (Bought a genetic replacement kit).
Mo has definitely helped curb the “I leave my legos out everywhere so mom can step on them and swear loudly” phenomenon in my house. The rule is, if Mo eats it, it’s gone. So pick up your stuff! But if you’re concerned, you can fairly easily retrieve eaten things from Mo’s belly. I don’t share this with the family for the above mentioned reasons.

Not to smart, but it does the job 🙂 I actually did not want to buy the smart ones, and I made a good decision. It gets in to all of the rooms, it goes under everything it can, it picks up a lot of dust, so far, its very reliable. I like it! Once in a blue moon stuck behind something, but I have a bunch of things on the floor. Its ease to find with the remote. I recommend it!
