I’ve tried a few different robot vacuums over the years from several companies, including both high-end and lower-end Dreame models. For vacuuming, this has what you need. For mopping, the drag-behind pad and manual fill aren’t ideal.
The So-So:
Having used a fully automatic mopping vacuum, it’s hard to go back to a drag-and-fill mop. It’s not that this one does a bad job — it just doesn’t deliver the amazing results that spinning mop heads do. My high-end Dreame on the main floor makes the floors look better than when I clean them myself — it’s crazy good. If price isn’t an issue and mopping is important, I’d honestly recommend the higher-end models. They’re worth the difference.
Where This Shines:
For my basement — which has carpet, engineered hardwood, and just a little tile — this works well. The space is set up for company and doesn’t get used regularly, so it’s never really dirty, just dusty. Vacuuming is the main need, and this unit handles it great. It has strong suction, even on plush carpet, doesn’t get tangled, and cleans thoroughly.
Compared to other lower-end models, the extendable side brush really makes a difference. It gets tight against furniture and walls without me needing to pick everything up off the floor. If you’re comparing a fixed side brush versus this moving one — it’s a noticeable upgrade.
Navigation & Reliability:
The pathing is solid. Cheaper models often struggle, but this one completes a full clean without me needing to untangle cords or reposition it. After about six full cleans, I’ve only had to deal with one error.
App Experience:
The Dreame app works across all their models and is very polished. I think the app makes a huge difference. I had a good unit from a well-known vacuum brand, but its app felt like a beta version. On paper, the specs were similar, but the Dreame app is far superior. (Android user.)
Bottom Line:
If vacuuming is your main concern — especially in a low-traffic area — this is a great choice. For serious mopping, though, consider Dreame’s higher-end options. For the price and performance, this one holds its own.
