I purchased this after watching a few video reviews on Youtube and decided to give it a shot. I stand by my 5-star rating but there are some tiny litle caveats.
Comparable-size models by XP-Pen and Huion are the same price (their newest models) but their screes are not laminated – this one is. Lamination is wonderful – it reduces the space between your pen nib and the cursor on the screen below it.
Parallax is virtually nil, but I will note that very close to the edges the cursor does tend to pull away from the nib, but I was aware that this was a "thing" before I purchased and I was happy to "make do". It's really not terrible, and if you don't like it, just drag the area you're working on into the centre of the screen and *ta-da* problem solved.
There is a "built in" screen protector under a peel-off one that you remove before using, and it's great, but there's not a lot of "tooth" to it. It's not a slick as writing/drawing on glass, but it's still kind smooth-ish. I would have preferred something more matte, but honestly, I'm kind of used to it now.
I gave it 5 stars for thickness only because i've never been asked to rate the thickness of anything and I'm always up for new experiences. Having said that, the entire thing is a little over a cm thick, which surprised me because it looks thicker – in the middle on the back is a small 10cm square-ish block that sticks out where you plug in the **separate** usb/hdmi and power cables – no silly "3-in-1" cable which , if even one thing dies you still have to return the whole thing, you get three distinct cables, and that's awesome.
Also the adjustable stand is already attached when you get it, so one less thing to fiddle with.
some people are not super stoked about the shortcut keys because they're not lit and your can't find them through touch, but I'm left handed so i'm just using my keyboard any way.
Short, final note: I've been painting and drawing and illustrating and doing all sorts of creative things for 40 years (longer but i feel like I'm aging myself enough by admitting to 40 years) and i have sold things that i have done so I guess you could say I'm professional – and I like this and recommend it.
Yes, I'm sure it's great for beginners, but really, it's a great piece of equipment for anyone, regardless of the price and if you don't have to spend $2700 to work on a big tablet, don't.
