So many choices, so many different package sizes, so many manufacturers … overload !
I shopped this cell size to find a reasonable price with reasonable ratings for at least a 4-pack. Turns out, value gets better for larger package sizes so I ended up buying what may be a 6-8 year supply rather than the 4 cells that I needed right now. Crazy thing is, it was about the same price and a better long-term value as long as the shelf life is at least a couple of years. Unless the pricing changes universally, figure about 50 – 75 cents per cell as a rough guide for a decent battery (unless you go mega package size). Got them and dropped two of them into the two wifi garage door position sensors. They work fine and the control app for the garage doors shows both are at full power. I’m at 5 stars now based on overall value and functionality when delivered. If they go flat faster the prior cells, I’ll update. Otherwise, no problems.
Keep in mind that you do get a better value with a larger package size. It was only about 70 cents more for the 15 pack and about $1.50 for the 20 pack. That was hard for me to resist but even the 10 pack was already way more than I needed so I held back and went with the small 10 pack. I will also note that I may have a slight brand bias. I tried some of Granicell’s AA’s in the spring and they have been working fine so I did have some positive brand recognition with these compared to all the other new brands.
