Comfortable battery headstrap that functions as both an elite style and halo strap
There aren’t many good options for removable battery headstraps. This one stands out in that it can function as both an elite style headstrap as well as a halo style headstrap. The only assembly is attaching the rear pad to the back of the headstrap. To convert from elite style to halo, you simply attach the halo support to the strap. To attach the halo portion, you do NOT need to remove the strap. The halo slides over the strap then is secured by flipping down the hinge. It won’t slide because the halo is held in place with Velcro (see the one picture I attached). There’s an included USB cable that connects the back of the headstrap to the headset. The choice on the connection angle for the connectors is a little strange. The circular end attaches to the front and points upwards (see picture). You cannot connect the circular end to the back of the headstrap because the back pad is in the way. There’s also no included holder for the cable so it basically just hangs in the air unsupported (see picture). I would recommend a strip of Velcro or equivalent to hold the cable to the side supports. When I initially tried this on in the halo style, I didn’t think it was going to be comfortable. The center pad on the halo support is not very wide so I thought it was going to put to much pressure on my forehead. However, to offset that, I simply slid the halo forward just a tiny bit so that some of the weight was supported by the facial interface on the headset. After that, I played for a couple 2.5+ hour sessions and it felt completely fine/comfortable. The Aubika headstrap comes with an included 10,000 mah removable/replaceable battery similar to the Bobo S3. I streamed PCVR to my Quest 3 for the majority of my test and I got around 2.5 hours. Playing games directly off the Quest, I got just shy of 3 hours of game time before the headset switched over to the internal battery. Speaking of which, when you attach the battery, it shakes/vibrates very slightly. And when it runs out of power, the battery will vibrate again indicating that it’s empty. I didn’t notice the “empty” vibration the first time because I was immersed in the game I was playing. I only knew it was dead because the QGO app made the sound indicator. On the second play test, I was just fishing in VR and I noticed the vibration which is actually a nice feature. The only negatives I see are the lack of a support or Velcro strip to hold the cable onto the headstrap. The second negative is that a spare battery is $50 as of the time of this review. If you’re looking for a swappable battery headstrap that gives you the option for both an elite style as well as a halo style support, then this is the headstrap you need to get!

    Not sure why, but the back headpiece was so uncomfortable for me that it gave me one of the worst headaches I've ever had after about 10 minutes of wearing it. I think the plastic it's made of is too hard or something. It's nicely designed and I liked the blue a lot. The winding clamp is crappy though. If you just pull back on the strap, it moves, which makes me also question the longevity of this thing.

    Glad I bought it. My Quest 3 definitely fits better now, and so much easier and faster to put on, take off and adjust. Feels really well built for the price.

    Hinged pieces are great. Love being able to just lift the front of the headset up now when I need to check my environment with my own eyes.

    And my favourite feature. Being plastic it's actually possible to clean. (Who at Meta thought white fabric for the strap was a good idea? In a week with clean hands my stock strap is already pretty worn and dirty looking.)

    I wouldn't necessarily say it takes the weight off my face, more that it distributes the weight across my face more evenly. Regardless, it feels better all around.

    If you want to massively improve your Quest 3 experience I can definitely recommend.
