When Anker announced it's updated Prime line for 2025, I was already trying to look for a replacement for the Otterbox (not to say that they are bad). So this came up on the radar. I decided to purchase it and it came very fast. Since it had a hook to clip to the car vent, this was very simple to adjust and tighten (don't tighten it too much, only to the point where you can feel the tension when turning the knob and it's secure on the vent without it wobbling around). Then I took the car out for a spin with this clipped to the vent and so far it's performed very well (on only one trip, I'll update this when I've banged it around a few times).
However for the adapter, I'm using an Anker 40w USB-C car charger, with an Anker 3ft. 100w 333 braided cord from a previous order. I'll keep the adapter as a spare.
The only downside is that I can only use this with the vent open (close to me) or closed (further away from me), but I guess that's part and parcel of the package here.
Update: The banging around was done, and it still stays on (I should point out I'm using a dbrand Ghost 2.0 case, and the Magsafe on that is ridiculously strong, so I don't have to worry about it falling off, if it does, the car mount comes with it). However, the only downside is that the vent has to be open. I can't put it on the other side, because not only is it too far away to comfortably reach, the slat comes out the moment you tighten it (2020 Elantra). The slat can be popped back in, which is not an issue. But for you Elantra owners, that's something to keep in mind. You also can't overtighten it or the slat will come out as well. So I'd only tighten it up to the point where the base doesn't move around. This does take a bit of trial and error, but can be done.
Edit #2: After the slat incident, I moved this to the other side. of the vent, which is more stable than closer to me. I've mounted phone holders like this before. But I guess an element to this is that I can still glance over and see what's going on.
The fan at the back is an extremely nice touch and you can feel it out the back. They should've integrated this with the Anker app so at least you have control.
The Otterbox is on standby in case I have to return this due to warranty issues.
