Bright as Day!
I hoped these would solve my hot, summer air seeping in from the attic around these fixtures. I ordered a 12 pack for my upstairs office and the kitchen. It turned out to be a slightly bigger job than I first thought. My house was built in 1989 and these can lights are probably different than anything made in the last 20 years. I bought a set locally, but they wouldn't sit flush to the ceiling and would pop out if you pushed them higher. I took them back and ordered this yet. I was about to send these back when I decided to experiment. It worked! If you have really old, recessed lights, you might be able to do what I did. The problem is the mounting tabs on new lights are too close together. As the light goes up into the can, it hits the edge of the can and pops loose. What I had to do was bend the bottom square end at a 45-degree angle to get it farther from the mounting point. Then, I also bent the long part in at a 30-degree angle. That way, when it goes up, it isn't trying to push against the side of the can. Worked perfectly. You can see the two spring clips, the stock flat one on the left and the modified one on the right. My next issue was these lights are slightly smaller than my old lights. Some of my old light had goof rings but many did not. The ones without goof rings leave a noticeable gap. I'm going to buy more goof rings to fix that issue. Some had such big holes that the light would actually recess into the hole, clearing the drywall opening. Easily fixed. My fixtures are so old they use a completely different connector, so I had to strip the old connecter out of the fixture and use the screw-in adapter to connect everything. All in all, I'm quite pleased with these lights and I'm ordering another dozen to replace the ugly eyeball socket lights in the living room. I not only WOULD order them again, I am.

    I just replaced 11 cans from square LED 5000K lights to these and I must say, they are great. The install is very easy (replacement LED recessed lights are easy to install) – took me about 30 mins to replace all. The ability to select color is not important to me.. I just use it at 5K, but its good to have for the price. The functionality is idiot proof.. just takes a bit to get used to the concept. Essentially – everytime you turn on after a while it lights up in bright center light. To turn on the night light, you just toggle on-off-on within 5 seconds. just a FYI, the night light is only in 2700K color temp. It looks really really cool.. the night light is not too bright, it is basically a yellow glow. The center lights are surprisingly very bright.
    When I picked this, there were no reviews (thats why I am writing it) but what I liked about these lights, is the night light is within the baffle, instead of on the top of the baffle which makes it protrude out from ceiling. This looks clean.
    Having said that, I did have one of the 12 lights that did not work – the night light would not light up. I'm ok with that.. 1/12 is not bad. But I will reach out to customer service and see if they can fix the issue and update here.

    I always like to leave great reviews. I did just install them, but they are working GREAT! One of the easiest products to put in. I actually was replacing bulbs that are supposed to last 13 years…because they only last about 2 or possibly 3…at the most. I am looking forward in these lights working a long time. The brightness is GREAT. The intensity was so easy to set. They were just a little harder that putting in a new light bulb. I do not have a dimmer, but the regular lights and the 'night' light modes are EXCELLENT! 10 Stars!
