I recently purchased this keyless entry door lock, and I am extremely impressed with its performance and features. The lock integrates an electronic keypad, auto-lock functionality with an adjustable timer, and a fingerprint scanner, which makes securing my home both convenient and efficient. One of my favorite features is the anti-peeping password, which provides an added layer of security by preventing anyone nearby from seeing the code as it’s entered.
This smart lock is designed for both right- and left-handed doors, offering great flexibility during installation. Speaking of installation, it was incredibly straightforward. It took me only about 15 minutes to remove my old lock and replace it with this one. The lock has a beautiful satin nickel finish that perfectly complements the look of my door.
The lock also comes with two small keys as a backup option. However, I discovered that stores like Home Depot and Lowe’s didn’t carry the exact size for key duplication, so I recommend visiting a locksmith if you need additional keys made.

After having gotten locked out of my own house too many times to count I decided to switch to digital locks a few years ago. One of those locks had started getting a little worn and loose. It was time to replace it with one of the newer fingerprint locks. I’ll admit I had my doubts. To my surprise this AkaGear keyless entry door lock set works flawlessly.
I grew up in a construction family and worked in the industry for many years. I’ve installed hundreds of locksets.
This AkaGear lockset is about as easy to install as any double lockset can be. The only tool required is a Phillips screwdriver. That may be the only tool required but it may not be the only tool needed. In my case I needed a small wood chisel and a hammer. And, since I was replacing the lockset in an older door I needing a few slightly longer wood screws to install the striker plate and latch-bolt assembly properly. Installation was straightforward but it’s important to read and follow the instructions. If you have zero mechanical ability you can probably do it but if you know someone who can help, I suggest you consider giving them a call. If you’re installing this in a new construction door and will need to drill the multiple holes; Installing any lockset is not a job for a DIY novice.
Once installed the AkaGear lockset is very easy to program, If you follow the instructions! The lockset has voice prompts that help guide you through. Once programmed the lock still talks to you, telling you when it’s locked.
The build quality is great. It looks and feels like it should cost more than the selling price. It looks good, it works good, it’s built well, it’s not difficult to install, and it’s fairly priced. What more could you ask?
Well, there is one thing. There are a couple of tiny little screws. If you drop one, which is easy to do, you could very likely loose it. It would be nice if they included a couple of extras. If you do loose one go to the hardware store and ask for a 8-32 standard coarse thread ¼” countersunk screw.
