I am an actual buyer and not a paid reviewer. I was looking for translator earbuds that would assist me with my non English speaking client. I do have access to telephone translation services but wanted our first meeting to be friendly and relaxed. I ordered 2 different types of translator earbuds, this pair and the Z50S Pro Max. I ordered these earbuds bc I didn't have to download a program to my phone and pay a subscription fee. My phone was not tied up for translation but could be used for other needs. Its a standalone translation device! The translator screen can be used without the earbuds and will detect your voice. You do need to select what language is being spoke and what language you want to convert it too. Like speak English and it converts to Spanish without the earbuds. I find this to be very useful for traveling. You can speak in English and it will translate it to your desired language right from the translator box to the other person, who can then answer you in their language and it will translate to you. There is very little delay translation time– its pretty quick. You do need to select on the side of the translator A or B. If you want to use the earbuds for a more quiet conversation then that is available. The earbuds connect very easily on initial setup and when you remove them from the translator they will activate and tell you that they are on. The screen will show your battery percentage of each earbud. This translator has 16 languages off line so no internet connection required. They mainly are the most common languages like French, German, Spanish ( several dialects to choose from), Chinese, Korean, Arabic, Italian, Hindi, Japanese, etc.
There is also a chatGPT feature ( you will probably need an internet connection) where you can ask questions like places of interest, etc.
Some additional features that were important to me were: I am able to print and email my conversation to myself or anyone else if needed.
The earbuds can be also used to connect to your phone to listen to music. The connection and charging are via a Type-C USB which you can also connect to your computer for video play, it says that you can also record the video file from the translator screen, but I haven't tried it. The translator will also display 2 different time zones. I can't tell you how long the earbuds last power wise yet bc I haven't tested that yet. The earbuds are similar to the white style and the comfort is about the same. There was a decent instruction manual that came with the earbuds.
I have only unwrapped the Z50 Pro Max and plugged them in for charging. You have to download an app and there are very little instructions with them. I'll review them under the product once I test drive them, but so far I'm loving these A8 Translator earbuds!
Both items are made in China.
