This handy little translator is perfect for those who travel abroad as it has a huge language base and can interpret just about any language you may encounter. It can even interpret different forms of the same language such as Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese or for French, Belgium, Canadian or Switzerland dialects. It's even useful wherever you're from as you may encounter people who do not speak the local language, especially in tourist areas like the larger cities, etc.
The translator is rechargeable and comes with a USB type C power cable and it also includes a nice lanyard which can be worn around the neck, keeping the translator handy and the lanyard has a disconnect feature so you can easily take it loose if you need to hand it to someone. The unit itself is just a bit smaller than most cell phones and it fits in the hand very well. Do be careful though because it does seem to be a bit slippery when handling it and if it's not connected to the lanyard, it could be easily dropped.
This thing has many great features and there is a bit of a learning curve to utilize all of its functions but, the main ones are very easily learned and are the ones you'll likely most use anyway. The two I find which are likely to be most used are the photo and conversation functions.
The photo function allows you to take a picture of a sign, and the translator will translate the sign. This is especially useful when traveling so you don't have to constantly ask someone what a sign means, ask for directions, etc. The conversation feature allows you to speak into the translator and it translates your words to the other person's language, then you can either let them read the response or it will speak out the translation; very neat and handy. The translator does all of this fairly quickly and it's easy to carry on a decent conversation this way. I posted a video highlighting these two features and also reviewing the translator right out of the box.
Of course, there are many other functions such as language learning, currency conversions, unit conversions, etc. It can be used while online or even if offline such as when on an airplane or in places where there is no or scarce WiFi coverage. This thing is a great business tool as well, helping to break down those communications barriers and possibly landing that big business deal!
We're go on cruises quite often and I'm really looking forward to being able to use this neat little gem this summer when we're off on our next cruise adventure. In my honest opinion, for what this thing does, how it's designed and being pretty easy to use, it's a definite value for the money and for those reasons, I highly recommend this product!
