I purchased this back in 2020 and it has been displaying fine with use of it nearly every single day. The quality has been putting up with my buddy Cannon's camera webcam. I have beat on this thing, smacking it and punching it because I didn't mind due to the price. The worst damage to it is some wires are exposed in the back and the cover came off but this thing still displays with no issues and looks great. I've even stabbed it with a knife numerous times and still no issues. Great quality and display for the price.

    Nice, inexpensive camera for Teams and Zoom

    First, you'll need to watch the price on these as it appears to vary wildly. I've now purchased three of these at an average of about $18 or so. I have one for each computer system I do video with at home; one for work, one personal and one hobby. They are a nice little camera that can either be mounted on the included short flexible stand, or the neat little folding piece that allows me to put it on the top of my monitor and it stays pretty well.

    I found the foldable part to be a little loose on each of these when I received them, but I removed one of the rubber plugs to access the small phillips-head screws and tightened them appropriately. Now they stay even better. The other thing to note is the included cover that you have to put on yourself. It comes with a thin adhesive layer so you can put it on the front of the camera. However, you'll find the outside edge of the housing might stick out a bit from the face, so if you mount the cover vertically, it may not actually stick very well. In my case, I simply mounted the cover horizontally so the entire surface of the adhesive had something to stick to. This means I have to open the cover to the side instead of up, but it works fine. Do note however, that mounting it this way will partially cover the LED icons for power and connection.

    The picture is pretty nice. My only objection is that it is a little bit "fish-eye" which is great if you want to try and include more of your surroundings, but is a bit annoying in the distortion you get at the edges. It's not too bad, but for me reduces the overall rating to four stars as I've not found a way to adjust for that.

    It connects via USB and was recognized by Teams and Zoom without issue. I had started out with just one and moved it from computer to computer, but then purchased additional ones so I could just set each one up and leave it.

    Overall, satisfied.

    Problem with way it sits on the my monitor

    I am giving an overall and per feature rating of a "3" for right now. I will come back and make changes once I get some experience with it. I purchased two of these because my wife and are now both working from home because of COVID-19. Neither of our monitors came with built-in webcams. The webcams just came yesterday so I cannot yet commit on the picture quality or ease of use. There was a little bit of a driver installation problem, however. The first USB port I used would not recognize the new hardware. So changed USB ports and and it was recognized. It did take a few minutes for it to go out to the Internet and find the driver though. Not that big of a deal since I had plenty of other things I could do while I was waiting. My biggest concern, however, is the way it sits atop my monitor. Before I purchased it I noticed the problem but just assumed it was the way the picture was being shown but that an adjustment was available. In essence, the directions say that the hinged back should rest flush against the back of your monitor. The problem is the distance from the clip that rests over the front top ledge of my monitor and the back panel/fold of the hardware is easily 1.75 inches. The thickness of my monitor is 0.5 inches so there is a shortage of 1.25 inches. Monitors today are very, very thin and so are TVs. The directions say the back panel should rest flush against the back of your monitor but, unless your monitor is 1.75 inches thick, then that is not going to happen. The back panel is on a hinge so all you can do is adjust the hinge forward to about a 45 degree angle and just rest it against the back of the monitor. Since the camera itself upfront is on an up and down hinge, then the panel in the back should be adjustable to account for different sizes of monitors. The inside side of the back panel is padded so that gives credence to the idea that it should be flush against the back of the monitor. So long story short … I do not know how well this webcam will stay on the top of my monitor. Will it constantly fall off? I do not know. The back panel, instead of being on a hinge, should be adjustable from 0.5 inches to its full length of 1.75 inches so that the webcam remains securely affixed to the top of the monitor. The small tripod that came with the webcam is workable but rather cheap and, if used, others will be seeing you from an angle if you are trying to make a presentation. I could get a hard piece of rubber or some other material and place it between the back of the back panel and the monitor so that it is more securely attached but the material would have to be an exact fit although there would be some flexibility with a piece of rubber. However, that is disappointing because you are basically jury-rigging a product that should come equipped with the proper features. If anyone who has already purchased this has any suggestions or sees something I am missing then, by all means, I am open to suggestions and others' opinions. Otherwise, I will just plug along and see how it goes. And, in any event, I will update my review once I get some camera usage and can determine the viewing quality. Thanks to everyone for taking their time to review my submission. I like to post reviews because I often look at them before making purchases as end-users provide the best testimonials. I have, however, seen where companies sometimes post reviews in disguise to mislead the buying public into purchasing its product. So we will see. I will be in touch. Thanks again.
