The good: Super easy to setup. Love the tech! It's so fun to watch them. Within a few days we had all sorts of finches coming here in SoCal. A lot more affordable than another popularly advertised brand I was looking at, especially with a black friday deal. The quality is really nice. Family loves it. Super easy to add new food and it pop out the bottom. Lots of mounting options. I like that it's solar, no battery charging needed. But you could if you needed to give it a boost. Love that it's USB C!
Not so good/stuff to understand: The app is slightly clunky in some areas as far as intuitiveness and usability goes, can be slow to wake the feeder (I have a strong connection), etc, but I've gotten better at using it over time. I believe the "AI" features that I was looking forward to requires a subscription, while not too expensive, I almost signed up for it.
Beware of: the privacy policy made me hit cancel on the subscription. It was atrocious. Things like saying that it could have full access my IMEI and my SIM card on my phone. It sounded like a massive invasion of privacy and huge security risk I will not let slip through potentially the wrong hands. I've been hacked enough, thank you. I'm not insinuating a premeditated and planned malicious hack on the companies part, but it could easily fall into the wrong hands of a distrungled employee if I give that info over to a relatively and small company like that.
That said, just don't sign up for the cloud subscription if that's a concern for you, and use this fantastic feeder without it. It's totally optional. Just use local SD card storage, that's working great!
