These are SICK!!

5 out of 5 stars

These are SICK!!
I never leave home without them. They work with my phone and laptop, they are super sharp, and the audio is really amazing. The screen is not equivalent to a 200” screen, more like 120” at like 8ft, which is perfect. I would buy these over and over, I’m gonna get some for my Dad for his birthday and be the undisputed favorite son. My kid won’t stop running off with them, but that’s my problem, just don’t show them to your kids.

Thank you for your feedback

I was able to test the original Rayneo Air 2 and the Viture Pro. And now I got the new Air 2s and it is definitely an improvement over the original Air 2 and now is on par with the Viture Pro (which go from around 400 to 450).
Is the little details that TCL has improved on this new model that make it alot better than the original, like the softer temples, 2 sets of nose pads (M and L), better and louder sound, on screen control display with color adjustment and the slightly better clarity on the lenses and now included carrying case. Also, the screen brightness and the standard USB c cable are also an improvement over the Viture Pros.
I am using the glasses to watch streaming apps currently. I am not going to use them for productivity for now. And for streaming apps, it works perfectly. I have a Samsung S24 ultra and Z Flip 6.
For the S24 ultra, plugging the glasses launches DEX which is an workstation simulator which turns your phone into a "laptop" of sorts. Since I don t need that, I exit out of that mode and just use mirroring. On the Z Flip 6, it goes straight into screen mirroring since that phone that does not have DEX built in.
Watching movies and anime is fantastic. The colors are vibrant and the screen gets very bright (is almost eye searing at level 10). I keep brightness at a 4 or 5 for now. The sound is clear and I can hear perfectly, but this is inside my home. I can imagine on very noisy environments or on a plane, you wont be able to hear them, but you will be using earbuds in those locations anyways. What blows my mind is how loud the sound of the built in speakers get if you "cup" your hand around your ear and the sound is directed straight into your ear, which is almost too loud.
I am very happy with my purchase and looking forward to spending hours on a plane watching anime and movies without having to worry about the person sitting next to me judging me for watching Japanese cartoons.

These are my first pair of XR glasses that I own. I did a lot of comparisons with other XR glasses and I've used them heavily on PC and Android for about 2 days. I was also curious about the free adapter when purchasing but was confused on how to claim it. I reached out to support about it. I will only be mentioning about my experience with the glasses.

All in all, I was impressed by the Rayneo Air 2s. With my face type I was glad that the blurry edges issues were minimal and not too extreme. I can wear the Air 2s comfortably for a long time. The image quality is very sharp and crisp! They work plug and play with my Galaxy Note 10+ and my Alienware laptop making them versatile when paired with a compatible device.

As of writing this review, compared to other similar glasses these are best for:
    1. Audio: They are not the loudest but the quality is great. I've tried them in many general settings and they get the job done if I don't have any other peripherals on me.
    2. Comfort: The glasses are very light and can be worn for a long time whether you are upright or laying down. If there was any issue I could rearticulate them to accommodate. The Air 2s are very well made and durable.
    3. Simplicity: They're elegantly built as an input display unit. So there isn't excess features that could be buggy or slow down the unit over time.
    4. Portability: The case included will ensure device protection and has space for the wires and maybe one or two additional small accessories like a back up cable, prescription lenses, or lightning adapter. And it will still be singlehandedly light!

Here are some things you may want to consider when purchasing the glasses:

    1. The glasses will drain the power off your phone battery quickly. Consider finding a device that enables simultaneous charge and display connection. I get near an hour use out of my phone until it gets about 25%-30% battery.
    2. The tint on the glasses are heavy. You may have to tilt your head up to see what is in front of you as you can see through the sunglasses lens. The display lenses are also tinted so it makes the glasses extremely difficult to see anything in a ambiently lit area. I somewhat have better spatial awareness around direct sunlight but it will still be challenging if you want to socialize or be active while wearing these. I find myself just having to put them away every time before I have a conversation with someone.
    3. The cable side of the glasses will be noticeably warm. I am considering attaching a silicone membrane to see it can resist the temperatures directly to skin.
    4. The sunlight may directly angle onto your body and face which will visually reflect onto the viewing lens. Maybe wearing dark clothes and having an umbrella can help?
    5. The software can use some refining as they just feel like buggy demos. In my case, that's solved with my phone having Samsung Dex. It enables me to position app windows and it works so well with my Air 2s.
    6. This could just be an issue within Android. During phone or internet calls, the audio will reroute to the phone's internal speaker or Bluetooth device. Only system and media audio will play over the glasses. On Windows, call audio will work on the Air 2s.

I hope my review helps anyone looking to purchase this amazing piece of tech.

I bought these because I wanted to replace the portable monitor I usually pack when I travel. These are so convenient to take on a plane and the picture quality surprised me too. It's nice and bright and the screen is massive. I thought 1080p at that size would look blurry, but the image is surprisingly crisp. The speakers are good and get to a decent volume, but I prefer using Bluetooth earbuds.

I love the adjustability of the frames themselves. I like having the screen at the lowest level so I can peer down at it (more comfortable for me), but the screen can also be straight ahead or slightly above you by tilting the arms up or down. Build quality feels good, but I baby these things.

At home, these are nice to have by the bed if you don't have a TV in your room.

Overall, I'd recommend these for those that travel a lot and want a quick way to set up a comfortable big screen on the go.

    I love them!

Reviewed in Canada on August 14, 2024

I bought the Air 2S (not Air 2) glasses, I use them everyday before bed to watch videos and play games, they are perfect for this purpose! I returned another brand because these are simply better.

For my face/head shape and eyes, which are all pretty normal (I wear normal hats and sunglasses), they are super comfortable and I can see everything crispy clear with sharp edges, reading small text when browsing the web isn't an issue either. The screen colour is great, the sound is awesome, I don't need to wear earbuds or headphones, and the volume doesn't disturb anyone sleeping beside me. The lowest brightness goes pretty dim in pitch black rooms, and during daytime I usually just use the default middle brightness.

The build quality is good, they are plastic, but good quality which really helped with the weight and balance on the face, the 3 angle arm adjustment is a must, it made the fitting so much more accurate and easy. It comes with 2 nose pieces, 1 medium and 1 large, I just use the medium, the pads on both pieces are large and comfortable. I love the included hard shell carrying case as well, it fits lots and nothing scratches each other.

However, I have 2 small gripes:
    1. The Rayneo XR app isn't the best, if you are an app person, this isn't for you. It doesn't have much features, I have an older phone (running android 9), nothing shows up in the glasses when connected. I also use them with my ipad pro, same thing, not much in the app, you can adjust some basic settings and screen colour profiles, that's about it. I personally don't use the app tho.

    2. The glasses doesn't remember previous volume/brightness/refresh rate settings, so every time I re-plug them, I'll have to re-do the adjustments, it only remembers the colour profile. Although there are volume and brightness buttons and a menu button on both arms, which made this chore a lot more tolerable.

Hopefully these small flaws can be solved with software and firmware updates. Overall, I'm very happy with them. There's a lot to love about, the great picture quality, the light weight, the convenient plug and play, the sound quality, the easy button access and the comfort. They are awesome for entertainment!

Interesting, but not ready for prime time yet..

Reviewed in Canada on January 8, 2025

I really wanted to like these, I really did. But things started off bad, and went downhill. First thing I noticed when I went to open this was the box had obviously been opened previously. The two pieces of tape holding the top lid had been cut, and the cover rotated 180 at some point, because the two tape points no longer lined line up. If this product had worked perfectly otherwise, I would have been willing to ignore this minor thing. But for the better part of $500, and that was advertised as 'New'? No way.

Packaging is well designed. I knew ahead of time that I would be needing an HDMI-USB adapter for use with my computer, and had also ordered one at the same time as this. But initially, I decided to just connect it to my S24 Ultra. I put the glasses on, and plugged in the USB cable between the glasses and my phone. After a moment, the display appeared. And this is where I immediately knew these would likely be going back for a refund. Some other reviews have noted that focus was soft at the edges, especially if you wear glasses. I do wear glasses, but it's a very light prescription. In the XR glasses, probably only the middle third of the field of view was in focus. I tried putting on my glasses, and then the XR ones over those. The view was better, but still very soft at the outer 15% of the edges. There are a pair of what are described as corrective lenses included with the Air 2s glasses, but they came with protective film over them and I didn't want to remove that to try them, as at this point I was almost certain I was going to be returning these for a refund.

The final decision to return these came with the field of view itself. The description for the Air 2s glasses say 201" display, which to me indicates what you should see wearing these should look like a 201" screen, but not one that looks like you're 40 feet away from it. It barely matched what my 32" desktop monitor looks like from a normal viewing distance, with a whole lot of empty non-screen space on either side. I tried watching a video on it, but with the S24 Ultra connected, it was using Samsung's Dex interface. Which meant any controls were tiny, and very difficult to target, especially in the soft outside edges of the screen.

I packed everything back up into the box, and decided sleep on it. Later the following day, I took them out and tried them again, but not surprisingly the experience wasn't improved with a second look. I carefully repacked it a second time, and submitted a refund request.

Bottom line? If you're expecting the experience of a VR headset, such as the Quest 2 or similar product, you're looking at the wrong product. I think the idea of these kinds of glasses are great though. I like the idea of a lightweight pair of glasses, versus the closed-in and sweaty experience most VR headsets give. The build quality itself of this product I will also say is very good, the packaging is well designed, and I like that a protective case is included (rather than being an extra you need to pay for). It's just a shame that the promise it offers doesn't live up to what you get. At a hundred or a hundred & twenty bucks, I probably would have kept them as a novelty gadget. But for $500, I demand a better experience.

Lightweight portable screen for your eyes

Reviewed in Canada on November 26, 2024

The RayNeo Air2s has been on my wish list for a while and I finally bought it. I've used a meta ray ban and the meta quest 3. These are fairly comfortable and light weight. It's very easy to set up, just plug and play using the provided USB-c to USB-c cable and it just work, of course, make sure your device does support video out from it, which you can find on their website or search rayneo device compatibility check lists. If you're wondering if you can use the same usb-c to usb-c cable between meta quest 3 and the air2s, the answer is no because the meta quest 3 does not support usb-c to HDMI output directly, but if you have a Google TV device or use the meta horizon app on your phone that supports video output, you can cast it to it and view it on the RayNeo Air 2s. I haven't used it outside yet, but using it in door seems pretty good and can easily lay down comfortably while watching YouTube and browsing the web. The audio sounds pretty good, so far it's been a great experience and no issues so far.
