I've tested quite a few pool robots over the last couple of years because my large in-ground pool tends to collect a lot of leaves, dirt, and fine debris from the trees surrounding my yard. Finding a robot that can properly clean the floor, walls, and corners without costing a fortune is always a challenge, so I was curious to see how the WYBOT B1 would perform.
Setup was extremely simple. After charging the robot, I connected it to the app, selected my preferred cleaning mode, and dropped it into the pool. Like most robotic pool cleaners, the Wi-Fi connection only works while the robot is above water, but the app is useful for changing settings, selecting cleaning modes, and updating the firmware when needed.
What impressed me the most was the cleaning coverage. The combination of the main roller brushes and side brushes allows the robot to clean much closer to walls and corners than many other robots I've used. Pool corners are often the hardest areas to keep clean, but the B1 did a surprisingly good job reaching those spots.
Wall climbing performance is also excellent. The robot had no trouble climbing all the way to the waterline and scrubbing along the walls before returning to the floor. It handled transitions between the floor and walls smoothly and never seemed to struggle for traction.
The suction power feels strong enough to handle everything from fine sand particles to larger debris such as leaves. My pool always ends up with a mix of both, and the B1 was able to collect them without any issues. The triple-motor design provides plenty of power, while the navigation system does a good job covering the pool efficiently without appearing random or wasteful.
Battery life was also very respectable. The advertised runtime seems realistic, and I had no problem completing a full cleaning cycle on my pool. For quicker maintenance between full cleanings, the quick-clean mode is a nice option that saves both time and battery life.
Another feature I appreciated was the automatic parking function. Once the cleaning cycle is finished, the robot moves close to the pool wall, making retrieval much easier. Since the unit is relatively lightweight, lifting it out of the water is not difficult either.
Overall, the WYBOT B1 is an impressive pool robot that offers strong suction, excellent wall-climbing ability, effective edge and corner cleaning, and smart navigation. It combines many of the features usually found on more expensive models while remaining easy to use and maintain. If you're looking for a capable robotic cleaner for either an in-ground or above-ground pool, this is definitely a model worth considering.
