It works as advertised and connects quickly. I gave it four stars because the manuals and instructions are unclear, making the initial pairing tricky and leaving it uncertain if the product is updated. I couldn’t update it using the provided instructions. It claims to update OTA, but there’s no way to confirm this. I bring up updates because I have to unplug the dongle and store it in the glovebox, since I only use it for long trips. Leaving it plugged in to keep it updated is annoying, as anyone starting the car automatically connects to my Android Auto. The dongle powers down when the car is off, but even unlocking the doors wakes it up and triggers a connection. So, I leave it unplugged and risk missing updates. Also, if you have to use the included USB to USB-C adapter, the dongle sticks out awkwardly, isn’t sturdy, and looks odd. Once setup is done, the connection is super-fast, but the initial setup took several tries, requiring me to forget and re-pair the networks each time.
