Compact charger but with some compromises
I’ve been using this 45W USB-C charger as a backup for my laptop and Chromebook. It’s small and convenient to carry, and it does the job in a pinch. That said, there are trade-offs worth noting.
What I like:
1. Compact size – slips easily into a bag and doesn’t take up much outlet space.
2. Universal compatibility – it powered both my HP Chromebook and a Lenovo Yoga without issue.
3. Affordable compared to OEM chargers.
4. The cord length is decent, giving a bit more flexibility when outlets aren’t right next to your desk.
Things to keep in mind:
1. The charging speed is noticeably slower than the original charger, especially if you’re running multiple programs or trying to charge while using the laptop heavily.
2. The build feels light and not as durable as name-brand adapters. I’d be cautious with rough handling or frequent travel.
3. Gets a little warm during extended use, not unsafe but worth noting.
4. It works best for Chromebooks, smaller laptops, and tablets—larger laptops that require higher wattage may struggle or drain faster than it charges.
Bottom line: A handy, inexpensive backup charger that works fine for light to moderate use, but don’t expect the same durability or fast charging performance as the original.
