It’s easy to install since the it comes with all the necessary wall plug and screws. It’s fairly affordable as well. It looks like a good quality plastic material. I would recommend EV drivers to check it out if you are thinking about home charger station.

    Convenient, Heavy Duty with No Heat Issues

    This was an excellent purchase for my needs. It appears to be a quality, well built, 50A extension cable designed for EVs and functions as advertised. On connecting the extension cable to the standard 15 ft, 240V 40A charger cable for my two cars, there was no heat generated in either cable and if anything the charging speed honestly seems a little faster. I have two hybrid vehicles in my 3 car garage and with this 21 ft extension cable I could charge a 3rd EV with a charger port on the far side of the car in the 3rd bay. Eliminated my need to shuffle cars back and forth which was a pain in the rear! I'll provide an update a few months from now…unless I uncover an issue sooner.

    Acceptable Solution to Dumb City Zoning Policies

    My town is behind the times with regards to residential EV charger placement. No standalone pedestals, must be house-mounted. Dumb. As such, the only way to reach the driveway is an extension cable.

    This cable does a fine job with a Kia EV9. Temperature rise is minimal and well within acceptable range. Flexibility is good, coils well in Florida – no cold testing. Carside plug has a bit of rattle and plastic feel but doesn't affect functionality.

    Until I can do it right, this is a good solution for home charging.

    The cable is thick and no micro-switch

    The extension cable appears to be well built; however, it is very thick and rigid. More importantly, it does not include a built-in “micro-switch” in the charging handle button, which means it does not signal the charger to stop charging before disconnecting.

    I was using this cable with a J1772-to-Tesla adapter, and I specifically needed an extension cable with a micro-switch so the charger would stop charging, unlock, and allow me to safely remove the charging handle. After doing additional research, I found that EVDANCE and SEGUMA extension cables include this feature.

    Because this cable did not meet my needs, I returned it.

    IMPORTANT: Afin d'éviter un arc électrique et des dommages potentiels au port de recharge de votre véhicule, il ne faut jamais débrancher la rallonge directement au véhicule lorsque la recharge est en cours. Il est préférable d'arrêter la recharge via l'application du véhicule ou de la borne, ou encore en dernier recours, séparer le pistolet de la borne connecté à la rallonge ce qui arrête le courant et ensuite débrancher le pistolet de la rallonge connecté au véhicule. Cette recommandation ne s'applique pas lorsque le niveau de recharge prévu a été atteint et que la borne ou le véhicule ont interrompu le courant.

    Pourquoi?: Le pistolet raccordé à la borne de recharge interrompt le courant lorsque l'ont appui sur le bouton de déverrouillage pour retirer le pistolet du véhicule, ce qui n'est pas le cas du pistolet de la rallonge car il n'est pas relié électroniquement à la borne.

    I purchased this cable extension just before the Amazon Black Friday sales started. I noticed the Black Friday sale was a bit lower, and the company’s customer service team was gracious enough to refund me the difference.

    I have been using the extension cable with my 48 Amp Level 2 charger, to reach my car outside of the garage. While in use, the charger shows 47.5 Amps getting to the car. The cable is thicker than my charger’s cable. It is well made and high quality.

    The product has a one year warranty.

    Just used for a couple of months now, not working with the adapter to charge my Tesla last month. Now completely stop working. Neither J1772 directly nor using an adapter to Tesla.

    Would recommend buyers to read reviews at least more than one year for such kind of product. All cables work at the first time use.
