TLDR: it does what it's supposed to, saves space, looks nice, and is easy to mount/secure. I also like the separate USB and USBC ports.
So far, I've purchased two versions of this extension cord.
The first, I use for my desk area to plug in my laptop, desk lamp and phone charger (and anything else that needs it)
The second is currently dedicated for my modem and router setup.
Here's what I like about these guys:
1) Space-saving.
The plug hardly sticks out, AND it doesn't bock the other contact opening on the outlet. This means, I have that second opening available for another item. Also, both of the outlets I've placed these extension cords in are behind furniture. The first is behind a dog crate (don't worry, there is a solid barrier in place, my dog can't just lick it) and the second is behind the cabinet which houses my modem/router. The furniture is still able to be placed almost directly against the wall. It looks seamless.
In addition, the box shape is easier to tuck into spaces than the typical long bar design, without losing the number of openings for plugs to go in.
2) reinforced cord. I personally just like these reinforced cords, where there is a fabric wrap over the rubber coating, more than the ones that are pure rubber. I just think it looks nicer and, in my experience, is less likely to sustain damage. I have no stats, it's anecdotal, so I don't know if that's a fact.
Also, the cord is not overly stiff. I can easily wrap it around to where I want it to be, and it looks great.
3) The box design. Above, I mentioned that it saves space because it's easier to tuck in. I also like that the rotating orientation of the openings allows you to plug in those big, chunky plugs that often block other openings… but not on this guy.
The listing also states that this is easy to mount on the wall. This is true! If you want to use a nail/screw, just check that the head of the screw fits into it before drilling into your wall, and you're good to go. Since I wasn't ready for a permanent mounting solution, I just used a couple of command picture hanging strips on each (you know, the kind that is basically plastic velcro, you put one on the wall, one on the object?) and it also works great! The one for my desk area is mounted to the underside of my desk. It's not particularly visible, but I can access the plugs easily. The one for my modem/router is just secured into the base of the cabinet so it doesn't move around or anything.
4) the USB and USBC ports. I feel like having chargers that use these are more and more common these days. Almost every small gadget I have came with one. And, being notoriously disorganized, I often lose my plug adapters. I like the convenience of always having these slots available (and always knowing where they are haha). It's also very nice that they don't take up an additional plug opening.
Also, I feel like this shouldn't need to be said, but given the quality of other extension cords I've had in the past… the plug sticks IN the outlet and doesn't fall out randomly, and all the plugs I put in the extension cord ALSO stay in and don't simply fall out with a small adjustment or light tap. This extension cord does its job and exceeds the bare minimum! huzzah!
