    This is a nice little dock for the steam deck. It uses the Steam Deck power supply, and generally works well. The only complaint I have is that the USB-C port on the dock has a low tolerance for the plug moving around, so you may find that the power is disconnected from time to time, especially if you are trying to use the Steam Deck controls instead of a keyboard and mouse. It's a minor thing, but something to be aware of. Otherwise, I feel like this is a good dock, and is well worth the money.

    … and that's it. I docked my Steam Deck to it yesterday. It seemed to charge my Deck – the light came on at the top – and it sent the picture via HDMI to the monitor. Test complete so I said "Great" and shut it off.

    An hour later I finished what I was doing so decided to play a little bit. Turned on the Deck. No picture on the monitor. The Deck was displaying on its own screen. Also it had not charged at all though the light was still on. I did everything from reboot the Deck to disconnect the dock for an hour then reconnect everything. No dice.

    I am using an Anker USB-C 65W charger so no issues with power. The dock is just no good. Don't try and save money by buying a 3rd party. Just do what I should have done and buy an authentic dock.

    The put ROG Ally in the title and say it is compatible. While that is true in most cases, it is not fully compatible. Even though it charges the ROG Ally fine, you will not get docked mode with this dock. That just means you can't get 30w TDP performance like using the Ally charger directly. You will be limited to 25w performance with this dock. I wouldn't call that compatible.

    The other things are fine. Dock fits the Ally fine. The cable has enough reach for the Ally. The ports all work including the HDMI. Build quality is great too. Only that one issue, and for me it is a big issue. Who wants portable performance when you have the Ally docked? Not many .
