Easy to use but quality isn't great
Bought this for a computer vision experiment using LEGO bricks. It took some fiddling to get the focus right–no instructions on how to adjust focus (there's a little set screw on the lens). The image quality was less than I had expected for 5MP but worked ok for my application.

    This camera seems not UVC compatible out of the box. It's important for me. Used in a Raspberry, the Logitech webcam C910 immediately streams with mjpg-streamer, not this camera. I gave it 2 stars and not 1 for the benefit of the doubt that something needs to be done to make it like the Logitech, meaning streaming with mjpg-streamer. If anyone knows the answer, I'll appreciate to learn it.

    Revision: It IS uvc compatible as specified in specs. After a day of looking into why the image is not seen, I found that this camera is one that does not allow the frame rate to be specified as an argument to stream it. When that option is there, it refuses to stream. It does fine when I remove the -f option.

    These ELP cameras work well with linux computers like the raspberry pi using the fswebcam package you can get great control over the camera parameters, but using them on windows has not been easy, there doesn't seem to be any way to use it like a normal USB camera and the only software it worked with was painful and buggy.

    The camera is nice, reasonable value.. BUT the advertisement says wide anglr (170 degrees field of view) When the replacement camera arrive, I found that the lens is really a 110 degree lens, the exact same camera I received in rhe first place.
    In short, I will make it work by using a lens from a different camera. I have no issue with the quality of the camera, only with the product not matching the description,

    Well, I had initially given this a good review…. but after about 6 months of use, this thing is dead. I was using it as a camera for octoprint, and I modded my enclosure to accommodate it and designed a custom (extremely well ventilated) enclosure/mount for it., so it is really irksome. Of course, it took some time for me to get the thing installed (needed parts, time to design and test, and I don't have much free time), so the warranty period expired on this by about a month when it died.

    There is no point in a camera you cannot use or rely on… and this one was way too expensive to have such a short lifespan.
