A value priced dock with high end features

A value priced dock with high end features
This is a really impressive dock on its own, but even more so given the low price. It easily holds its own against my (much) more expensive Dell docks. And it requires no special software or drivers. (you’d be surprised how many of this mini-docks need extra software/drivers to function) I have a folding, dual monitor wing kit that slides over the laptop screen, creating 3 matching 14” displays. I had no trouble connecting them both to the dock’s HDMI and USB ports (for power) Everything worked like it should. My laptop doesn’t pull much power, stock adapter is only 45W. But by connecting a higher rated USB-C adapter to the dock, I was able to power the laptop AND my wireless phone charger, with full/fast charging speeds for both. Everything works like it should. Build quality is top notch. Important Note – to use this dock to the full specs, the USB C port on the laptop has to be either Thunderbolt 3/4 rated, or USB version 4. I point this out because my wife’s Dell laptop, despite having a USB C 3rd gen port, is not Thunderbolt rated, and thus dock is very limited in functionality. (it also throws a bios warning if you start up with it connected to the laptop) This is not a limitation of the dock, it’s a limitation of the tech that makes the enhanced functions work. And quite frankly, a laptop with a USB C port that isn’t Thunderbolt rated is pretty rare. My wife’s employer just decided to save a whopping $5 by configuring their Dell fleet without it.

    I am happy with the product as it works as described. I have used it to my Windows Laptop to connect to dual monitors + laptop. It is a easy plug and play. Simple to use and make my work from home easy.
    I have also used this device to connect to Mac book and used to extend my screen. However as described, this device extends to one screen and will do mirror image with 2 monitors. This is mentioned in the description.
    I had the privilege to test it for Chromebook. It works exactly as a Macbook and does mirror image for two monitors, but can extend screen with Chrome book to single monitor.
    Overall, I am happy with the purchase and would love to buy again.
