This fingerprint lock is clearly high-quality, well-designed, and highly functional. Unlike my old smart lock, its motor for opening and closing the bolt works very reliably and closes firmly even if the door isn't 100% aligned. The lock is made of durable materials and looks really nice too.
Installation was easy and mostly standard; you install it just like any other deadbolt but with a few modifications for running the wire. The one exception is the magnet that the lock uses to determine whether the door is open or closed. Although the magnet is optional, using it can be difficult because people tend to bump it and break it easily. In my case, I had to stick the magnet on directly using 3M foam tape, without the plastic casing. Also, I do recommend if you want added security to use a different receiving panel for the bolt to enter when the door is locked. You can get higher-quality ones that are more resistant to kicking. There's nothing low-quality about the one included with this lock, but it's not one of the higher-strength panels.
The lock connects fluidly over WiFi without any problems. The app integration works great and is very reliable. One catch is that while it can also integrate with many smart systems, it doesn't integrate with everything. I use Hubitat and I was able to integrate the lock using the user-made app and driver for the "U-tech ULTRALOQ Latch 5 NFC". However, the integration is not yet perfect, and I haven't gotten it to properly receive updates from the server even though it pushes commands just fine.
Perhaps the best feature of this lock is its fingerprint detection. You can create a seemingly unlimited number of user profiles, and each profile can include app control, a PIN code, and up to two fingerprints. For example, you can make it so a person can unlock using only fingerprints if you want, or you can allow them to use the app or a PIN code if you want. The fingerprint sensor is very reliable and it reacts quickly. It can have trouble if the sensor gets wet, but on my covered porch it's typically not an issue. As for the PIN code, it's helpful both that you can use distinct codes for different users (e.g. for tracking) and that it has all 10 digits on the pad, which makes it more secure.
